Sullinger was a steady scorer for the Golden Flashes just one point shy of matching his career high on Tuesday, March 4 dropping 31 leading both teams. He then led the Flashes again in scoring in Kent State's comeback win over Eastern Michigan on March 7. Across Kent State’s two wins, Sullinger averaged 24.5 points and four rebounds per contest, shooting 16-of-37 (.432) from the field, including 9-of-16 (.563) from three-point territory, as well as a perfect 8-of-8 from the charity stripe.

Sophomore Javan Simmons averaged 22.0 ppg and 6.5 rpg while registering a remarkable 76.2 FG% (16-of-21) and a perfect 100.0 FT% (11-of-11) in the Rockets’ two games last week. Simmons tallied a career-high 22 points, six rebounds and sank a career-high nine free throws in Toledo’s loss to first-place Akron on Tuesday. In Friday’s 96-82 win over Ohio, Simmons matched his career scoring high with 22 points and grabbed seven boards. He also made all 10 of his shots from the field to become the second Rocket ever to make 10 or more field goals without a miss. He finished one shot away from tying former Rocket JT Shumate’s school record of 11 in the 2020-21 campaign.
