Week 3 Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week Announced

Co-Singles Player of the Week

Lucia Yecora, Freshman, Northern Illinois

Freshman Lucia Yecora recorded a 5-7, 6-4, 1-0 (10-3) win over Wisconsin's Ellison Reynoldson at No. 4 singles to account for the Huskies' point in the match against the Badgers. In the first match of the day, Yecora came back to win the second set and tie the match versus Milwaukee when the Huskies secured the win over the Panthers. 

Audrey Moutama, Junior, Toledo

Audrey Moutama earned a three-set tiebreaker win on the No. 1 singles court to clinch the match victory over Cleveland State on Friday. Moutama took down Cleveland State's Vicario, 7-5, 5-7, 7-6 (7-3) in a hard-fought battle. The junior claimed her 18th singles win in dual play as a Rocket with the win and helped move Toledo to 2-0 on the season.

Doubles Team of the Week

Sienna Osborne/Frida Weijerman, Western Michigan 

The freshman duo of Osborne and Weijerman went 2-0 on the weekend. In the match win over Valparaiso, the pair secured the doubles point with a 6-2 win at No. 2 over Valpo's Brynn Steven and Lacey Tanner. They then helped the Broncos clinch the doubles point in the 4-1 loss at Michigan State. Once again they were the deciding factor, picking up a 6-4 win over the Spartans' Natalie Stasny and Issey Purser.
