MAC Announces Week 17 and Final Wrestler of the Week Honorees

East Division Wrestler of the Week
Anthony Noto, Lock Haven, Senior

On Thursday, the Bald Eagles soared by visiting Edinboro, 31-11, to secure the 2024-25 MAC East Title. The 133-bout featured a pair of nationally-ranked opponents and Anthony Noto, ranked No. 17th, put Lock Haven on the board with a hard-fought 17-11 victory over No. 31 Colton Camacho. Noto put the Bald Eagles in the score column and The Haven didn't look back from there. Behind the perfect 7-0 run through MAC duals, the Bald Eagles secured their third MAC East regular season title and first since Lock Haven won back-to-back titles in 2022 and 2023. The victory also capped a perfect run at home and Lock Haven finished the 2024-25 season with a perfect 6-0 record in Thomas Fieldhouse. The win, Lock Haven's 10th straight, helped the Bald Eagles finish 14-5 overall. The 14 wins are the most in a season since Lock Haven won 17 (17-4) duals during the 2001-02 season. It also marked the first time since the 2018-19 season that Lock Haven finished undefeated in conference duals.

West Division Wrestler of the Week
Mason Shrader, Central Michigan, Redshirt-Junior
Central Michigan redshirt sophomore Mason Shrader went 2-0 against CMU's two in-state Big Ten rivals. He opened the weekend with an 18-3 technical fall over Michigan State's Clayton Jones in Mount Pleasant and then closed the weekend with a 4-2 upset of Michigan's Dylan Gilcher in front of a partisan U-M crowd at the Wolverines' Cliff Keen Arena. Shrader is ranked 30th nationally by FloWrestling, while Gilcher is 27th. The wins were Shrader's fifth and sixth consecutive as he improved to 21-7 including 10-3 in duals.
