Johnea Donahue led all players in both scoring and rebounding as the Falcons opened the MAC schedule with a 73-69 win over preseason conference favorite Kent State. Donahue, who had missed the previous two games due to injury, had 19 points and a career-high 11 boards in the win over the Golden Flashes. She hit a career high three three-pointers, going 3-for-4 from the arc. Donahue had 13 of her points in the second half as the Falcons preserved the lead, and had two defensive rebounds after BG got stops in the final 90 seconds. She twice went to the free-throw line in the game's final 15 seconds, going 3-for-4 during that stretch to extend the lead to two possessions in each case.
