MAC Announces Wrestler of the Week Honors on Tuesday

Co-East Division Wrestler of the Week
Eric Alderfer, 174 lbs., Bloomsburg
Alderfer won the 174 bracket in Group B at the Cornell Invite with a dominant performance that included three bonus point wins on a 4-0 day. Alderfer opened the day with a fall at 4:37 over Deakon Bailey of Binghamton before defeating Aidan Zarrella of Sacred Heart with a fall at 6:30. After a winning 9-5 over Evan Canoyer of Cornell, Alderfer closed out the bracket with a 15-0 tech fall at 2:34 over Eric Wolf of Sacred Heart.

Tyler Klinsky, 125 lbs., Rider
In Rider’s road dual at No. 18 West Virginia, No. 20/21 Tyler Klinsky set the tone with a relentless, pace-pushing performance at 125 lbs. Taking on No. 9/9 Jett Strickenberger, Klinsky fell behind 6–2 early but completely took control in the second period. He escaped, fired off a quick takedown to tie it, and added a go-behind to move ahead 9–6 before forcing a stalling point for a 10–8 edge. Klinsky continued to push the pace in the third, finishing a clean single for a 13–9 lead and adding another go-behind and stalling point to close out a dominant 20–11 major decision. The win put Rider up 4–0 and marked his third victory over a ranked opponent this season and second against a top-15 foe,
 

Co-West Division Wrestlers of the Week
Derek Raike, 157 lbs., Ohio
Redshirt sophomore Derek Raike led the Bobcats at Sunday's Mountaineer Open, taking home the title in the 157 lb. bracket. Raike began his day by defeating UT-Chattanooga's Alex Hutchcraft by a first-period forfeit. Raike advanced to the quarterfinals with a 9-3 decision over NC State's Latrell Shaffer, recording two takedowns. Raike took home another victory by decision in the semifinals, recording three takedowns on his way to an 11-5 defeat of Appalachian State's Kai O'Dell. Raike dominated the championship match, recording five takedowns to defeat Appalachian State's Jeremiah Price by major decision, 17-6.
 
Mason Schrader, 125 lbs., Central Michigan 
Central Michigan’s Mason Shrader finished 4-1 to place third at 157 pounds at the 29th Annual Keystone Classic at The Palestra in Philadelphia. Shrader, a redshirt senior from South Lyon (Brighton HS), posted an 8-5 victory over Anthony White of Rutgers in the third-place match. Shrader is ranked 25th nationally by FloWrestling and 29th by InterMat. White is ranked 30th and 25th, respectively. En route to his third-place finish, Shrader posted a 19-4 technical-fall victory over Michigan State's Braden Stauffenberg and a 4-3 win over Nick Stampoulos of Lock Haven. Shrader's lone loss in the tournament came on a 7-4 decision to Penn's Jude Swisher, a returning NCAA Championships qualifier who is ranked 11th nationally by FloWrestling and 13th by InterMat.
