OXFORD, Ohio– The Miami University men's basketball team took down Arkansas - Pine Bluff 111-84 Sunday afternoon at Millett Hall. Evan Ipsaro led the RedHawks (5-0) with a career-high 20 points, while four other RedHawks added double digits in scoring. Jaquan Scott led the Golden Lions (0-8) offense with 19 points. Almar Atlason, Brant Byers and Antwone Woolfolk were named to the 2025 Collegiate Hoops Roadshow All-Tournament Team, while Ipsaro was recognized as the MVP.
The Golden Lions grabbed an early 6-2 advantage when Ipsaro and Atlason used a collection of free throws to give Miami its first lead of the afternoon at 7-6 with just under five minutes of action played. A traditional three-point play from Woolfolk and a behind-the-back pass from Peter Suder led to a Luke Skaljac layup to double the visitors' score at 12-6. A fading triple from the right corner by Atlason increased Miami's lead to 15-6. A trio of layups from Tyler Robbins and Woolfolk gave the RedHawks their first double-digit lead of the day at 21-10.
The RedHawks continued to attack the rim, as Woolfolk and Ipsaro scored two more layups and Atlason added his second three of the day to stretch the score to 30-13. More free throws from Skaljac and Robbins, as well as a Suder triple, kept Miami in control at 37-20. Trey Perry added two free throws of his own and scored off of a full-court transition layup to give the RedHawks their first 20-point lead of the afternoon at 43-23. Byers, Perry and Elmer each knocked down a shot from behind the arc to keep Miami up 56-36 heading into halftime.
Woolfolk opened the second half with a spin move on the left baseline that led to a two-hand slam dunk. A three and a pair of layups from Ipsaro kept the Miami offense humming at 66-44 with 16 minutes to play. Byers got going with a jump shot and a shot from downtown to put the score at 73-51. A tip-in layup, driving layup and right corner three from Suder kept the RedHawks in control 80-60 with 10 minutes to go.
Ipsaro made a tough bank shot through contact that led to a three-point play after getting the foul call to make it 85-62. He then added his eighth and ninth free throws of the day to make it an 87-62 ball game. A collection of layups and Skaljac's first three of the day put Miami over the triple-digit mark in scoring, as the Red and White pushed its lead to 102-81. The Red and White didn't look back, securing a 111-84 victory over Arkansas – Pine Bluff.
Miami takes on UNC Greensboro on Wednesday, Nov. 26 at 2 p.m. in a neutral site game at Edward Waters University in Jacksonville, Fla.

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – Western Michigan rode a big second half and a career-high 30 points from Jalen Griffith to an 83-60 victory over Mount St. Mary's on Sunday at University Arena.
Griffith's career-high 30 points came on 10-of-14 shooting and 5-of-6 from three-point range. In his first career start, Brady Swartz was also in double-figures for Western Michigan with 16 points. The freshman tied with Max Burton for the team lead on the glass with six rebounds. Burton also dished out a team-high five assists.
An 11-0 run helped Western Michigan (3-4) grab a 20-8 lead just shy of the midway point of the first half. Mount St. Mary's (1-5) countered with nine of the next 12 to trim the gap to 23-17. At 32-26, the Mountaineers rattled off eight in a row to briefly take a 34-32 advantage. The final six points of the half went to the Broncos, with Sharod Barnes banking in a three-pointer from beyond half court to put WMU up by four, 38-34, heading into the break.
In the early stages of the second half, the Mountaineers ran off seven consecutive points to trim the margin to one, 46-45. Western Michigan answered with seven in a row of its own to ignite a 20-4 surge which built the margin to 66-49 with just over six minutes to play. WMU's advantage remained in double-figures for the remainder of the contest, with a final nine-point burst giving the Brown and Gold their largest lead of the day, 81-57, in the waning moments.
The Broncos connected on 48.4 percent (31-of-64) of their field goals in the contest, while Mount St. Mary's hit 40.4 percent (21-of-52) from the floor. WMU was plus-11 in the turnover battle, turning it over a season-low six times, while forcing the visitors into 17 miscues.
Next up for Western Michigan is a trip to Valparaiso next Saturday, Nov. 29, at 3 pm.
