Logan Messer, 174 lbs., George Mason
George Mason Wrestling competed at the Army Black Knight Open in West Point, NY, with Logan Messer delivering a strong performance. The graduate student emerged as the champion in the 174-pound weight class with an impressive 4-0 record. He secured victories over opponents, culminating in a decisive 5-2 win against G. LaPlante from Army in the championship match. Messer earned two technical falls, against Army's McCombs TF (2:18) 17-2 and USMA's E. Roudebush, TF (5:22), 18-3.
 
West Division Wrestler of the Week
Markel Baker, 133 lbs., Northern Illinois
Fresh off his title run at the MSU Open, Baker continued to build his national resume while competing at the Boilermaker Duals.  Baker started the day facing off with #22 Raymond Lopez of American University, where he posted a decisive 11-4 victory, helping NIU secure its first dual meet win of the season.  In his second match of the day, he defeated #21 Blake Boarman of Purdue 8-6 in what would prove to be a momentum builder as the Huskies took three nationally ranked bouts from the Boilermakers.
