Jessica Andrews was an offensive force over the last week for the Falcons, aiding BGSU to a 4-0 MAC start. Seeing time as a right-side hitter, Andrews blossomed in the role. Starting the weekend in five sets against Eastern Michigan, Andrews tied for the team-lead in kills with 16, matching her career-high in the process. On top of the high kill total, Andrews maintained an impressive .467 hitting percentage in the match, landing the 16 kills on a season-high 30 attacks with just two errors. She followed it up against Central Michigan with more efficiency. In three sets against the Chippewas, Andrews landed eight kills on 12 attacks with just two errors for a .500 hitting percentage, giving her a mark of .476 over the weekend's eight sets.
Defensive Player of the Week
Lindsay Kahren, Libero, Miami
Senior libero/defensive specialist Lindsay Kahren totaled 37 digs (5.29 digs/set) and went 42-for-43 (.977) in serve receive over two matches against Western Michigan and Northern Illinois. On Thursday night, Kahren had 14 digs and one assist versus Western Michigan. On Friday night's three-set win against the Huskies, she recorded a match-high 23 digs and two assists.
Setter Pair of the Week
Lindsey Green and Reese Axness, Ball State
Setters Lindsey Green and Reese Axness helped the Ball State offense lead all MAC teams with a .264 attack percentage last week, as the Cardinals improved to 4-0 in league play with wins over NIU and Western Michigan. The duo also helped BSU lead the league with 13.43 assists per set with Green dishing out a team-high 54 and Axness had 31 herself. Ball State’s top server on the week, with four more aces, Green also chipped in one kill and 10 digs. BSU’s second-best server on the week, with three more aces, Axness also chipped in 13 digs.
