Northern Illinois, Western Michigan Earn Women's Tennis Athletes of the Week Honors

Singles Player of the Week
Nataly Ninova, Junior, Northern Illinois 

NIU junior Nataly Ninova went 3-0 in singles on the week with three straight-set wins. Sunday she defeated Missouri's Zoe Lazar 6-1, 6-2 in dominating fashion at No. 3 singles to record NIU's first point. Friday she scored wins over opponents from Lindenwood (7-5, 6-2) and Saint Louis (6-2, 6-1) while playing No. 2 singles as the Huskies posted a pair of wins to start the season. 

Doubles Team of the Week
Lola Glantz/Audrey Smitek, Western Michigan 

Glantz and Smitek went 2-0 on the weekend, helping the Broncos to a 3-0 start. In the season-opener against Marquette they were slotted at No. 1 and earned a 6-4 win over Andie Weise and Tiera Jarmond. Their first match in Sunday's double-header went unfinished after WMU earned the doubles point. Later in the afternoon they lined up again at No. 1 and defeated Hillsdale's Ane Dannhauser and Megan Hackman, 6-1.
