CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Mid-American Conference Women's Soccer Head Coaches have made their preseason predictions for the 2024 season. Reigning MAC Regular Season Champion Western Michigan was selected as the favorites to take home the regular season title and tournament championship. Head Coaches were not allowed to vote for themselves in the poll.
The Broncos received 116 points and eight first place votes, while earning six votes to win the conference tournament.
Ball State was picked to finish second with 101 points and Ohio, who won its first ever MAC Tournament crown last season, was selected third with 90 points.
The Cardinals and Bobcats were joined by Kent State (fourth) and Bowling Green (sixth) with a first place vote in the poll.
Buffalo was slotted in the fifth spot while garnering two votes to win the conference tournament. Ball State also earned multiple selections to take home the conference tournament.
The Golden Flashes and Falcons rounded out teams with a vote to claim the tournament title.
The MAC women’s soccer season begins on Thursday, August 15, while conference play is set to begin on Thursday, September 19. The season will culminate with the MAC Women’s Soccer Championship, which takes place November 3 (Quarterfinals), November 7 (Semifinals) and November 10 (Finals).
