MAC Softball Player of the Week
Karli Spaid, Senior, Infield, Miami

It was another dominant weekend for Spaid. She went 5-for-9 at the plate and made the ball fly each time she connected. With her four home runs across three games, Spaid moves into a tie for sixth in NCAA softball career home run leaders. She currently has 85 and is the only active player on this list. She also leads the country in home runs this season with 18. This weekend she recorded a incredible 2.000 slugging percentage, leading the RedHawks. She also managed five RBI, six runs, and a .556 batting average.
MAC Softball Pitcher of the Week
Macy Irelan, Sophomore, RHP, Kent State

Macy Irelan dominated in the circle with a 3-0 record, 0.52 ERA and .103 opponent batting average over 17.1 innings. Irelan totaled 22 strikeouts and only two walks while tossing two complete games, including a shutout. After allowing a home run to the first batter Wednesday against Youngstown State, she did not allow a run the rest of the week. Irelan had a season-high 11 strikeouts in a shutout effort against Manhattan on Saturday and added five strikeouts while keeping the Jaspers hitless over the final 3.1 innings to earn the victory in Sunday’s series finale.
