CLEVELAND, Ohio-- Behind 26 points and 12 rebounds from VonCameron Davis, the No. 8 Kent State Golden Flashes upset the No. 1 Toledo Rockets in the opening quarterfinal matchup of the 2024 MAC Men's Basketball Tournament on Thursday afternoon inside Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The Golden Flashes will face the winner of No. 4 Central Michigan and No. 5 Bowling Green on Friday, March 15 at 5 p.m. ET on CBS Sports Network. 

Davis' points and rebounds marked career highs for the redshirt junior as the Columbus, Ohio native tallied six makes in each half. 

Jalen Sullinger (14 points) and Giovanni Santiago (12 points) each scored in double figures to round out notable scoring performances for the Golden Flashes. Santiago connected on half of his three-point attempts (3-of-6). 

For the game, Kent State shot 44.8 percent from the field with 13 makes in the first and second halves. 

Dante Maddox Jr. paced the Rockets offensively with 19 points on 50% shooting. Maddox Jr. also pulled down a team-high nine rebounds. 

2024 MAC Co-Defensive Player of the Year Tyler Cochran tallied 14 points, while Andre Lorentsson scored 10 points off the Rockets' bench.
