Sean Spidle, Central Michigan, R-Sophomore, 125lbs
Central Michigan’s Sean Spidle led off a pair of Chippewa dual meet victories with big wins over the weekend, running his win streak to five while improving to 13-8 on the season including 6-1 in MAC duals. Wrestling at 125 pounds, Spidle posted a 15-0 technical fall victory over Kent State’s Adam Benavidez in a 25-15 CMU win on Friday. On Sunday, he led off CMU’s 28-10 win at Clarion with a dominant 9-2 victory over Joey Fischer, who is ranked third in the MAC. Spidle is ranked fifth. It was Spidle’s first career win in three matches with Fischer, who entered the dual having won seven of his last eight matches, including an upset of MAC No. 1 Anthony Noto.
 
East Wrestler of the Week
Nick Molchak, Cleveland State, Sophomore, 133lbs
Molchak led the Vikings to a 2-0 week and four straight duals wins as the sophomore won both his matches on the weekend. On Friday, he pinned No. 32 Gable Strickland of Lock Haven in 2:02. The following day against Bloomsburg, Molchak picked up a 9-0 major decision versus Major Lewis. On the year, Molchak is 12-11 overall, 6-4 in duals, and 4-1 in MAC matches. He also has three major decisions and three falls.
