Isaac Dean, Rider, Redshirt-Junior, 184 lbs.
Isaac Dean delivered in a tightly contested bout against No. 22 ranked  Ian Bush of #18 West Virginia. After exchanging escapes in the second and third periods, Dean notched the deciding takedown with just 10 seconds left on the clock. Dean held on for a 4-2 upset win and is now 4-1 on the season.
 
West Division Wrestler of the Week
Bryan Caves, Central Michigan, Redshirt-Junior, 285 lbs.
Central Michigan's Bryan Caves posted a 7-2 victory over Indiana's Jacob Bullock to give CMU three team points and forge a 16-16 tie to close the Chippewas' season-opening dual meet. Indiana was awarded the dual meet based on the third tie-breaker criteria, total points scored. Caves, a redshirt junior from Port Byron, Ill., posted his first career victory over Bullock, a graduate student and 2024 NCAA Championships qualifier who entered the meet ranked 21st nationally by FloWrestling and 22nd by InterMat. Caves lost his first three career matches with Bullock by a combined 29-9 score.
