Offensive Player of the Week
Anna Kharchynska, Opposite, Ohio
Junior Anna Kharchynska led Ohio's offense as the team finished its busy week of MAC competition with a 3-0 record. Kharchynska totaled 46 kills, 4.60 per set, 51.0 points, and 5.10 points per set. The junior concluded the week with an impressive combined .404 hitting percentage. In the team's 3-0 sweep at Kent State, Kharchynska had 14 kills, 14.0 points, and a .500 hitting percentage. The junior recorded another 14 kills and a team-high 16.5 points in Ohio's 3-1 win over Buffalo on Friday. In Saturday's 3-0 sweep over Buffalo, Kharchynska led the team with 18 kills, 20.5 points, and a .457 hitting percentage.
Defensive Player of the Week
Sophie Ledbetter Libero, Ball State
Freshman libero Sophie Ledbetter helped the Ball State women’s volleyball team secure a berth in the 2024 MAC Volleyball Championship by leading all league players with a 5.67 digs-per-set average last week. She registered 34 total digs in back-to-back sweeps at Toledo, with 14 on Friday night and 20 on Saturday afternoon. The effort helped limit the Rockets to a combined (.149) attack percentage for the weekend. In addition, her play helped the Cardinals set a program record for consecutive sets won on the road at 16.
Setter of the Week
Logan Case, Western Michigan
Logan Case handed out 115 assists (12.78/set) to help the Broncos hit a combined .395 in their three straight-set victories last week. The fifth-year setter opened the week with her team-leading 11th double-double of the season, totaling 40 assists and 11 digs in a sweep of NIU that saw WMU hit .319. She then helped Western Michigan hit over .400 in both sweeps of Miami, picking up 38 assists and seven digs on Friday and then 37 assists and eight digs in Saturday's victory. The Brown and Gold hit .453 on Saturday and .438 on Friday, their two highest single-match marks of the season.
