MAC Announces Week 11 Women's Soccer Players of the Week

Offensive Player of the Week
Jen Blitchok, Western Michigan, Forward
Graduate Student, Grandville, Mich. (Grandville)

Western Michigan graduate student Jen Blitchok continued her marvelous 2024 season by scoring seven points on three goals and one assist in a pair of wins over Toledo and Ball State last week. Her dominant play helped the Broncos secure the MAC Regular Season Championship and remain undefeated in conference play.

She began the week with an assist against Toledo, putting the game out of reach late in the second half. WMU won the game 2-0. She followed that up with her second hat trick of the season against Ball State. She scored the second, third and fourth goals of the game for the Brown and Gold, leading to a 5-4 win.

The Grandville, Mich. native led the conference in points and goals on the week. In the win over Ball State, she broke the program record for goals in a season. In 2024, she has 37 points on 15 goals and 7 assists. She leads the MAC in nearly every offensive category, sitting just four goals and eight points shy of conference single-season records.

Nationally, Blitchok is top 10 in both points and goals this season.

Defensive Player of the Week
Ella Holland, Eastern Michigan, Goalkeeper
Redshirt Sophomore, Dunwoody, Ga. (Dunwoody)

Eastern Michigan's Ella Holland recorded two clean sheets as the Eagles went 1-0-1 on the week, staying alive in the race to the MAC Tournament.

Holland, who was the only player in the MAC to record two clean sheets and more than four total saves for the week, made a remarkable leaping save with just 40 seconds remaining to preserve Eastern's 1-0 win over Kent State, Oct. 27. Holland tallied eight saves for the week and has eight clean sheets on the season, the most for EMU since 2014.
