CLEVELAND, Ohio – The Ball State Cardinals have been selected as MAC regular season and tournament champions in the 2024-25 Women's Basketball Preseason Poll, as voted on by the league’s head coaches. The Cardinals received 10 first place votes to win the regular season championship, while notching eight votes to win the 2025 tournament title inside Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse.
Kent State, last year’s MAC tournament champion and conference representative in the 2024 NCAA Women’s Basketball Tournament, was picked to finish second with 104 points and received two first place votes.
Buffalo (98 points), Bowling Green (96 points) and Toledo (82 points) rounded out the top five in this year’s preseason poll. Additionally, the trio each received one vote to win the conference tournament championship.
Ten of the league's top women's basketball players were also selected to the Preseason All-MAC first and second teams as announced by the league office.
