CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced Wednesday the 2023 Lacrosse Academic All-MAC Team. A total of 80 student-athletes were named to this year’s squad.
Youngstown State led the way with 16 student-athletes on this year’s team, while and Central Michigan followed with 15 selections. Detroit Mercy followed with 14 selections, while Kent State had had 12 members on the squad. A total of five MAC student-athletes posted a perfect 4.0 GPA: Sandy Edwards (Central Michigan); Emma Potter (Central Michigan); Jenna Irwin (Robert Morris); Jacqueline Cornell (Youngstown State) and Abby Yesko (Youngstown State).
The Academic All-MAC honor is for a student-athlete who has excelled in athletics and academics. To qualify, a student-athlete must have at least a 3.20 cumulative GPA and have participated in at least 50 percent of the contests for that particular sport.
