Cleveland, Ohio – For the second consecutive year, the University at Buffalo has been named the recipient of the Institutional Sportsmanship Award. This marks the third time in program history that Buffalo has received the honor as voted upon by MAC membership.
“It is an honor to receive this prestigious award,” UB Vice President and Athletic Director Mark Alnutt said. “We commit ourselves to fair play, ethical behavior, integrity and respect for our competitors. Sportsmanship is always bigger than the game and I’m proud that our student-athletes, coaches and staff embrace that mentality.”
The Institutional Sportsmanship Award evolved from the Conference strategic plan as the value of sportsmanship was the center of the Conference mission statement and core values. In the voting process, every MAC institution received votes, which further supports that sportsmanship is emphasized and expected from our student-athletes, coaches and administrators across each and every MAC campus.
