Women's Singles Player of the Week
Elena Malykh , Ball State, Sophomore, Moscow, Russia
Sophomore Elena Malykh played at the No. 5 and No. 6 singles positions for the Cardinals this week. Malykh began the week with a straight set victory over IUPUI’s Sarah Lounsbury. Malykh took the first set by a score of 6-0 and then the second frame 6-3. She helped the Cardinals to a 7-0 sweep over the Jaguars. On Sunday, Malykh earned an impressive three set thriller over Big Ten foe Purdue’s Juana Larranaga, 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 on court six. 
 
Women’s Doubles Team of the Week
Lucy Furness / Hannah Neuman, Bowling Green, Junior / Junior
The doubles duo of Lucy Furness and Hannah Neuman went 2-0 on the weekend, helping the Bowling Green Falcons to a 1-1 record in their road non-conference competitions. On Friday, the juniors took down the Holy Cross College team of Anna Beer and Victoria Savvidou by a score of 7-5. The following day, they earned BGSU's lone doubles victory over UIC, defeating Tamara Malazonia and Cora-Lynn von Dungern by a score of 6-2. Furness and Neuman, who were playing in the No. 2 spot, had not been doubles partners prior to this weekend.
