MAC Announces 2023 Gymnastics All-MAC Teams

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Mid-American Conference announced the Gymnastics All-MAC First Team and Second Team selections for the 2023 season Friday. The teams were selected based upon individual conference rankings of National Qualifying Standard (NQS).
 
The 2023 Gymnastics All-MAC First Team is made up of four student athletes. Ball State's Suki Pfister tallied the highest NQS on vault to earn her place on First Team. The Huskies' Natalie Hamp along with Ella Chemotti of Eastern Michigan and Western Michigan's Payton Murphy earn the top honors after tallying the highest NQS score in each of the remaining events – bars, beam, floor and all-around.  
 
On the All-MAC Second Team, Ball State's Victoria Henry and Central Michigan's Hannah DeMers were named. Kent State’s Karlie Franz, Alyssa Guns, and Rachel DeCavitch were named while Western Michigan’s Amanda Gruber and NIU’s Alyssa Al-Ashari rounded out the team.
 
The 2023 MAC Gymnastics specialty awards including Coach, Freshman, Gymnast, Specialist, and Senior Gymnast of the Year will be announced after the conclusion of the 2023 MAC Gymnastics Championship Meet.
 
The 2023 MAC Gymnastics Championships will take place Saturday, March 18th at Kent State University. Check out Championship Central for all the information for the championship!
