MAC Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Morgan Sharps, Bowling Green, Guard
Fifth-Year, Granville, Ohio. (Norwalk)
Bowling Green’s Morgan Sharps led all players in scoring in BGSU’s lone game of the week, and fell just short of tying a school record in the process. Sharps had a game-high 19 points in the Falcons’ 69-48 win over Wright State, and tied her career high with seven rebounds. Sharps went 5-for-7 from three-point range in the win. She had 16 points in the third quarter alone, just one shy of the school record for points in a quarter. That scoring outburst included 13 points in the last 2:48 of the quarter, as she scored on five consecutive BGSU possessions. The last of those points came on a three-pointer in the final seconds of the period. On the season, Sharps is averaging 13.5 points per game, and she is shooting nearly 50 percent (.464, 13-of-28) from three-point range. The Falcons are 6-2 on the year heading into Tuesday’s home game against #1/1 South Carolina.
