The Scholar Athlete of the Week Award is presented to a MAC male and/or female student-athlete who has a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or better and performs well during that week's competition. An institution can nominate up to one male and one female student-athlete per week in any of that current season's sports. The winners are selected by a representative of the MAC's Faculty Athletics Representatives (FARs).

Redshirt junior forward Mickey Pearson Jr. averaged 12.5 points and 6.0 rebounds per game to help the Cardinals score wins over Detroit and SIUE last week. In Wednesday’s 68-65 win over the Titans, Pearson scored 15 points and tallied seven rebounds. He also added a block, while making a pair of free throws in the final 14 seconds to score what proved to be the game-winning point. In Sunday’s 83-71 victory over the Cougars, he chipped in 10 points and collected five rebounds.

Week’s Achievements (detailed description of week’s events): Sophia Wiard helped lead Toledo to a pair of wins last week over Michigan and Loyola Maryland. Wiard was outstanding in a big 69-46 win vs. Michigan, scoring 14 points while grabbing six rebounds and dishing out five assists. She only had one turnover against the Wolverines and helped the Rockets beat them for a second straight season. Wiard led Toledo with 13 points in Sunday's 65-35 win vs. Loyola Maryland, adding five rebounds, four assists, and a pair of steals as well.
