MAC Announces Final Volleyball Weekly Award Winners of Season

East Division Offensive Player of the Week        
Lauryn Hovey, Bowling Green, Opposite
Lauryn Hovey concluded the regular season with a strong 16-kill match, maintaining a .480 hitting percentage on 25 attacks over the three sets against Miami. Hovey added a pair of aces for the Orange and Brown as well as four digs and two block assists.
 
East Division Defensive Player of the Week       
Sam Steele, Ohio, Libero
Senior Sam Steele helped the Bobcats conclude regular season play with a 3-1 win over Kent State, which resulted in Ohio being named MAC East Division Co-Championships. Steele led Ohio's defense with 23 digs in addition to tallying six assists. The senior recorded an impactful .905 reception percentage on 19 total attacks with only two reception errors.
 
East Division Setter of the Week
Tria McLean, Ohio, Setter
Senior Tria McLean helped Ohio to earning the MAC East Division Co-Champion title with a 3-1 win at Kent State. McLean recorded an impressive 42 assists, two aces, 10 digs and a career-best six kills. Ohio had a 2-1 advantage over Kent State and with the match on the line, the Bobcats came out strong in the fourth set. McLean's two aces contributed to Ohio's 9-0 scoring run at the beginning of the set. The scoring went back-and-forth, but Ohio's significant lead from the beginning of the set while McLean was serving helped the team gain a substantial advantage and led to the team's dominating 25-10 victory over Kent State. With that fourth set victory, the Bobcats secured the 3-1 to conclude regular season play.
 
West Division Offensive Player of the Week
Rhyenne Filisi, Toledo, Middle Blocker

Rhyenne Filisi had a great match on Wednesday, hitting .538 and tallying nine kills in Toledo's three-set win vs. Ball State. Filisi's kill total was one off her MAC high of 10, which she had hit on two occasions, and her .538 attack percentage was her second-highest of MAC play as well. Filisi stoood tall in the second set, recording the final three points of the set, all on kills, to help the Rockets put away the Cardinals on their way to a win.
 
West Division Defensive Player of the Week       
Andelyn Simkins, Western Michigan, Libero
Andelyn Simkins racked up 19 digs (6.33/set) and went a perfect 15-for-15 on serve receive on Wednesday night as Western Michigan capped a perfect 18-0 conference slate with a straight-set win over NIU. Behind Simkins' defensive exploits, the Broncos limited the Huskies to a .175 team hitting percentage.
 
West Division Setter of the Week
Logan Case, Western Michigan, Setter
Logan Case fueled the Western Michigan offense on Wednesday night at NIU as she handed out 38 assists (12.67/set). The senior also chipped in seven digs (2.67/set) and served up a pair of aces (0.67/set) as the Broncos topped the Huskies in straight sets to finish 18-0 in MAC play.
