East Division Offensive Player of the Week
Lauryn Hovey, Bowling Green, Opposite
Lauryn Hovey had an incredible weekend for the Falcons, leading BGSU to two wins over Buffalo to clinch a spot in the MAC Tournament. Hovey started the weekend with 26 kills in four sets, her second 20-kill match of the season. In the process, she maintained a .380 attack percentage and narrowly missed a double-double with nine digs. She followed up the performance on Saturday with another 20-kill match, her third of the season, hitting the mark exactly in three sets while adding five digs and logging a .302 hitting percentage. Her performance resulted in 46 kills for the Falcons, averaging 6.57 per set, and a .344 weekend attack percentage.
East Division Defensive Player of the Week
Sam Steele, Ohio, Libero
Senior Sam Steele led the Bobcats in digs as they swept Central Michigan 3-0, 3-0 this past weekend. She began the weekend with 10 digs and five assists. On Saturday, Steele tallied a weekend-high 17 digs in addition to three assists. In Ohio's two wins, she averaged 4.50 digs per set. Steele's combined reception percentage from both matches was an impressive .982 with only one error on 55 attempts.
East Division Setter of the Week
Jaden Walz, Bowling Green, Setter
Senior setter Jaden Walz set the Falcon attack against Buffalo as Bowling Green clinched a spot in the MAC Tournament. Walz averaged over 12 assists per set, finishing Friday's four-set match with 46 and Saturday's three-set match with 40. In the first match on Friday, Walz filled the stat sheet with her ninth double-double of the season, adding 13 digs, five block assists and three kills to her stat line. She followed it up on Saturday with nine digs, coming just one shy of yet another double-double.
West Division Offensive Player of the Week
Callie Minshew, Eastern Michigan, Outside Hitter
On senior weekend, Callie Minshew made the most of her final appearances inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center, helping EMU to a pair of victories over Kent State, Nov. 10-11. Saturday marked EMU’s first home sweep of a MAC foe since the 2020 season when it vanquished Ohio in straight sets. Overall, Minshew combined for 47 kills, 20 digs, two blocks, and a pair of aces. For the week, she averaged 6.7 kills per set, while adding a career-high 28 terminations in Friday’s match. The total topped her previous best of 25 set against CMU, Sept. 26. All told, the 28 kills are an EMU school record for most kills in four.
West Division Defensive Player of the Week
Emma McMahon, Eastern Michigan, Libero
Emma McMahon helped the Eagles to two wins over the Golden Flashes posting a total of 36 digs on the defensive end for an average of 5.14 per set. Additionally, the sophomore chipped in with 7 helpers as the Eagles picked up back-to-back-wins to close out their home schedule for the season.
West Division Setter of the Week
Logan Case, Western Michigan, Setter
Logan Case continued to fuel the Western Michigan offense over the weekend, totaling 86 assists (12.29/set) as the Broncos hit a combined .295 in a pair of victories at Toledo. On Friday, the senior posted her third consecutive double-double, handing out 44 assists and collecting 11 digs. She followed that up with 42 assists on Saturday to help WMU hit .339 in a straight-set victory over the Rockets.
