Central Michigan's Paupore Awarded Go Teach Dr Pepper Giveaway

MOUNT PLESANT, Mich. – Central Michigan redshirt junior Emily Paupore has been named the grand prize winner of the GO TEACH Dr Pepper Giveaway. The College Football Playoff Foundation (CFP Foundation) and Dr Pepper have awarded over 260 student-athletes aspiring to pursue a career in teaching and education with the Go Teach Giveaway. Each MAC institution selected one individual to earn $2,500 with the grand prize winner earning another $10,000.

Paupore is a member of the CMU cross country and track & field program. She holds a 3.94 grade-point average and is working toward a degree in Elementary Education/Teaching for grades PK-6. 

"Emily Paupore is a captain on our team," said Central Michigan Women's Track & Field Head Coach Jenny Swieton. "She hasa great personality and is welcoming to everyone. Throughout Emily's time at CMU she hasbeen involved in lots of things outside the team. She tutors weekly and also works with ayouth group. She also works at a summer camp every year. Emily is one of the most sincereand caring student-athletes I have ever worked with. She cares for her teammates andeveryone around her. She is also one of the most accepting people I have ever met."

In 2023, over $350K in funds was awarded to the third cohort of student-athletes from ten conferences and HBCUs that are pursuing careers in teaching and coaching.

CFP Foundation and Dr Pepper are dedicated to growing the Go Teach initiative to place qualified teachers in classrooms across the nation. Over the next five years the CFPF and Dr Pepper are awarding a collective $1.5 million in awards to provide support and recognition for student-athletes majoring in education.
