Faith Johnson, Akron, Outside Hitter
Johnson had a match-high 3 aces in Friday's win along with her double-double of 12 kills (team high) and 10 digs. In Saturday's match Johnson had a match-high 11 kills and finished with a .360 hitting percentage.
East Division Defensive Player of the Week
Abby Leigh, Buffalo, Outside Hitter/Middle Blocker
Abby Leigh had a solid weekend for the Bulls defensively against Ohio. She helped the Bulls split their weekend series to improve to 3-1 in MAC play. In total, Leigh had 14 total blocks over the weekend, good for 2.00 blocks per set. She racked up a career-high nine blocks in Saturday’s win over the Bobcats. She added 14 kills for 2.00 per set, one ace, five digs and 26.0 points.
East Division Setter of the Week
Eliska Vytiskova, Akron, Setter
Vytiskova had a match-high 33 assists in Thursday's match in addition to another match-high 30 assists on Friday. She is consistently recording match-highs while also leading the team in assists for the season, averaging 8.53 assists per set.
West Division Offensive Player of the Week
Maggie King, Western Michigan, Outside Hitter
Maggie King put down double-digit kills in both matches as Western Michigan earned a pair of straight-set wins over Bowling Green. The graduate student collected 25 kills (4.17/set) and 29.0 points (4.83/set) while hitting .316 against the Falcons. King put down 13 kills while hitting .333 and added five blocks in the series opener against BGSU, and then followed that up with 12 more kills on a .296 hitting percentage the following night as WMU moved to 4-0 in MAC play.
West Division Defensive Player of the Week
Andelyn Simkins, Western Michigan, Libero
Andelyn Simkins extended her streak of double-digit digs to 11 in a row as Western Michigan swept Bowling Green over the weekend. The senior totaled 29 digs (4.83/set) and posted a .955 reception percentage (21-of-22) in the two wins over the Falcons. Simkins opened the series with 16 digs and by going 8-for-8 on serve receive, and followed that up with 13 digs, seven assists (one shy of her career high) and by going 13-for-14 (.929) on serve receive.
West Division Setter of the Week
Logan Case, Western Michigan, Setter
Logan Case set up the WMU offense for a prolific weekend, as she handed out 73 assists (12.17/set) to help the Broncos hit a combined .281 in their back-to-back straight-set wins over Bowling Green. The senior also added 12 digs (2.00/set) and four blocks (0.67/set) to her weekend stat line. On Thursday, Case registered 36 assists as Western Michigan hit .271, and followed that up on Friday with 37 helpers to help the Broncos hit .292 for the evening.
