Women's Singles Player of the Week
Cassie Alcala, Toledo, Junior, Pickerington, OH
Junior Cassie Alcala went unscathed, 2-0, in singles play at the No.1 court this weekend against Army and Michigan State. Alcala defeated Army's Cooper Jackson in a three-set decision. Alcala took the second set with vengeance, 6-1, after dropping the first set, 4-6. Alcala was down 3-5 in the tiebreaker set and fought off two match points to tie it up at 5-5, and ultimately won the match 7-6(7) for the final win. Toledo defeated army 7-0 for the season-opener win. 

The next day, Alcala took on MSU's Ayshe Can and came out victorious at the end of a 6-4, 7-5 final. Alcala's win was the first for the Rockets that match, but ultimately MSU won the match 5-2.

The following day, Sornlaksup picked up the win for the Rockets in a quick 6-1, 6-3 over Indiana's Partick Fletchall. Indiana won the match 4-1.
