Kent State's Carry, Buffalo's Williams Named Co-Players of the Week

Sincere Carry, Kent State, Guard      
Redshirt Junior, Solon, Ohio 
Carry began the week with an incredible 42-point performance in a victory over Ball State. His 42 points are the most in a single game by any MAC player this season and ranks 4th in program history. Nobody at Kent State has scored more points in a game in the last 68 years. Carry did most of his damage from behind the arc, where he made a program record 10 three-pointers. He also posted six assists and three steals in the game against the Cardinals. After his historic performance against Ball State, Carry continued his dominance at Central Michigan. The redshirt junior guard finished the game with his 10th 20-point performance of the season, including 13 in the second half to lead the Flashes to a come-from-behind road win. Carry made the game-winning and-one layup with 25 seconds remaining which gave the Flashes a 73-71 win. Carry shot lights out from long range where he was 12-for-23 (.522) on the week. He helped the Flashes on the defensive end as well, posting three steals in each game and defending CMU's game-tying shot attempt as the clock expired.
 
Jeenathan Williams, Buffalo, Forward

Senior Jeenathan Williams led the Bulls to another perfect 3-0 week, including two of those victories on the road.  The perfect week capped off a stretch of six wins in 12 days and nine wins in the month of February.  Williams averaged 21.0 points per game in the three victories. He began the week with 17 points at Miami on Tuesday, including hitting the game winner with just under four seconds left.  He then exploded for 28 points at Northern Illinois on Thursday, his second highest scoring total of the year. Williams added 18 points on Saturday in a second win over the Huskies.
 
 
Other Nominees
Payton Sparks, Ball State, C  
Freshman, Winchester, Ind. (Winchester)   
Sparks led the team with 16 points per game and eight rebounds per game. He also tied for the team lead with two blocks for the week. He added one steal as well. Against Kent State, Sparks collected a team-high six rebounds to go along with 15 points and two assists. Against EMU, he brought down a game-high 10 rebounds with and a team-high 17 points. He recorded his 10th double-double of the season.
 
Samari Curtis, Bowling Green, Guard           
Junior, Xenia, Ohio (Xenia)   
Bowling Green junior Samari Curtis began the week for the Falcons by leading the team in points against Akron, scoring 21. Curtis added two assists, two rebounds and a steal in the game. Against Western Michigan, Curtis was once of three Falcons to reach double-digits in the scoring column, reaching 10 points. He added four rebounds, two assists and a block to his stat line in the game.

Noah Farrakhan, Eastern Michigan, Guard  
Freshman, Newark, N.J.-The Patrick School
Freshman Noah Farrakhan continued to build his case as one of the bright young stars of the MAC with his performances against NIU, Feb. 22, and Ball State, Feb. 26. Farrakhan led EMU to an important, 74-72, victory over the Huskies as he scored 23 first-half points, the second-most by any EMU player since 2016, en route to a 31-point effort. Not only were his 31 points a career-best, but they were also the most by any Eastern player since the 2018-19 campaign. Farrakhan added four assists to help the Eagles record a season-best 17 helpers in the contest. That effort helped him pass Raven Lee and MAC legend Earl Boykins for the second-most points by a freshman in EMU history. He now only trails James Thompson IV in this historical feat. Farrakhan now has 396 points on the season. He followed up his career day with another great effort against Ball State. Farrakhan went for 27 points against the Cardinals, and was perfect handling the ball, as he did not relinquish a turnover in the 37 minutes he spent on the court. He has scored in double figures in six straight games, which ties a season-best stretch. Farrakhan currently sits at No. 7 on the MAC scoring list, averaging 16.9 points per game. 
 
Dae Dae Grant, Miami, Guard          
Senior, Lorain, Ohio (Lorain)
Dae Dae Grant averaged 20.7 ppg, 5.0 apg and 4.3 rpg in a trio of games over a five-day stretch last week. Grant scored 22 points, shooting 47.1 percent from the field, against Buffalo last Tuesday and added five assists, five rebounds and a steal to his line. Against Central Michigan on Thursday, Grant tallied 16 points and three assists. In a road game against MAC leader on Saturday, Grant scored a game-high-tying 24 points, notched six rebounds and seven assists. He again shot 47.1 percent from the floor. It was his 11th 20-point scoring effort of the season.
 
Tommy Schmock, Ohio, Guard         
Senior, Cleveland, Ohio (St. Edwards)
Senior guard Tommy Schmock helped lead the Bobcats off the bench this past week, helping Ohio go 1-1. Overall, Schmock led Ohio with 18.5 points a game, while going 13-of-28 from the field and 11-fo-25 from three. He averaged 2.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists per game. On Feb. 22 against Central Michigan, Schmock couldn't miss fro bead the arc, scoring a DI-high 23 points, going 8-of-15 from the field and draining seven threes. He also grabbed three rebounds and dished out one assist in the victory. Schmock was back in action on Feb. 25 against Akron, scoring 14 points while going 5-of-13 from the field and 4-of-11 from three, he also grabbed one rebounds and dished out four assists.
 
Setric Millner, Jr., Toledo, Forward  
Junior, Little Rock, Ark. (Grand Rapids (Mich.) Christian)   
Junior Setric Millner Jr. helped the Rockets regain sole possession of first place in the Mid-American Conference by leading Toledo to victories over Western Michigan and Miami. Millner averaged 23.0 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 3.0 apg and 2.0 spg while shooting an impressive 69.2 percent (18-of-26) from the field and 64.3 percent (9-of-14) from three-point range. He opened the week with a career-high 28 point, eight-rebound outing in a 92-50 win at Western Michigan on Tuesday that saw him hit 11-of-14 shots from the field and tie his career high with five three-point field goals in six attempts. In Saturday’s 88-73 win over Miami, he poured in 18 points and was 7-of-12 (58.3 percent) from the field and 4-of-8 (50.0 percent) from three-point range.
