Clarion's Feldkamp Named MAC Wrestler of the Week

Will Feldkamp (4-0) competed at the 2022 Clarion Open on November 6, winning the 184-pound bracket with a dominant performance across the field. The redshirt senior won once by major decision, defeating Kent State's Mike Caniglia by an 11-2 score in the opening round. He followed that up with three straight wins by fall over competitors from Pittsburgh, pinning James Lledo at the 4:16 mark, Nick Meglino at the 1:01 mark, and Reece Heller at the 1:41 mark. Since joining the Golden Eagles' roster at the start of the 2021-22 season, Feldkamp has recorded 12 wins by fall and is 24-6 overall.

Lakewood, NY (Southwestern), 184 lbs. 
Giuseppe Hoose went 2-1 in the opening weekend of wrestling action at the Battle in the River City. UB’s 184-pounder had wins against Wisconsin and Chattanooga. Against Wisconsin, Hoose earned a 4-3 decision over Tyler Dow. He followed that up with a 10-5 decision over Sergio Desiante of Chattanooga. 
 
Johnny Lovett, Central Michigan, Junior
Miami, Fla. (Miami Southridge), 149 lbs.
Central Michigan junior Johnny Lovett went 3-1 and finished second at 149 pounds in the season-opening Michigan State Open in East Lansing, Mich. Lovett opened with a 4-0 win over Anthony Federico of Illinois, and then took a 6-2 decision from Isaiah Delgado of Utah Valley. Lovett reached the title match with a 5-3 SV-1 victory over Oklahoma's Mitch Moore. In the final, Lovett bowed on a first-period pin to Ohio State's Sammy Sasso, a two-time All-American who is ranked third nationally.

Indian Land, S.C., 141 lbs.            
Layton (4-0) won the 141-pound championship with a 4-0 record. The freshman recorded three decisions and one fall with his first collegiate victory coming on a 32-second pin.
 
Jared McGill, Edinboro, 4th         
Chestnut Ridge, PA, 174 lbs.       
5-0. Clarion Open Champion. With three bonus point wins.
 
Enrique Munguia, Kent State, Soph.
Strongsville, OH (Elyria), 165 lbs.
Munguia rolled through the Clarion open bracket, taking down the title at 165 pounds. He was seeded fifth to start the tournament and earned a trio of decisions, 6-3, 10-6, 9-3 to earn a spot in the title match. There he met and defeated Val Park of Navy, where he earned another victory by decision, taking away a 6-4 win and the title. 
 
Izzak Olejnik, NIU, R-Senior         
Bakersfield, Calif. (Bakersfield), 165 lbs.
After receiving a first-round bye at the MSU Open, Izzak Olejnik (4-0) won by a 5-1 decision over Chandler Amaker (Central Michigan) before earning a 11-3 major decision win over Sean O`Dwyer (Ohio University) in the quarterfinal round. In the semifinal round, Olejnik took down Caleb Fish (Michigan State) 6-4 to advance to the championship bout. The two-time NCAA qualifier beat Danny Braunagel (Illinois) 6-2, winning the 165 Open title and totaled 19 team points.

Cutler, Ohio (Warren), 157 lbs. 
Kellar (3-0) was dominant at the Michigan State Open, opening the 2022-23 season with a first place finish in the freshman/sophomore division at 157 pounds. He kicked off the day with a 13-4 major decision over Oklahom
