Eli Sherren, Buffalo
R-Freshman, Klein, TX, 197 lbs.
Eli Sherren (1-0) pinned No. 17 Keegan Moore of Oklahoma (#17 in NCAA Rankings) in in the first period at WrangleMania on Saturday. The redshirt-freshman got an escape, a takedown and the pin 42 seconds into the first period to defeat the 17th-ranked Moore who was a 2022 national qualifier.
Jake Ferri, Kent State, Grad.
Bellerica, Mass, 125 lbs.
Ferri rolled through the 125 championship bracket. He was seeded second and rolled through the first three rounds. Ferri got a first-round bye, then defeated Logan Jaquay of Edinboro by a 14-3 major decision. He then dispatched Nick Provo of Stanford, winning a 16-9 shootout to earn his way into the title match. Top seeded (No. 8 in the nation) Caleb Smith of host App State awaited, but Ferri earned a 5-2 victory to capture the title.

Anthony Noto, Lock Haven
R-So., Lima, NY (Honeoye Falls-Lima), 125 lbs.
Noto completed a perfect 2-0 week against two top ten teams. First on Friday, he dominated his was to a major decision in front of a sold out Rec Hall against Gary Steen of Penn State. He capped his weekend on Saturday with a sudden victory decision over #21 Jarrett Trombley of NC State. Noto landed the all-important takedown to win a tough matchup 3-1.
Blake West, NIU, R-Freshman
Shakopee, Minn. (Shakopee), 125 lbs.
33rd ranked redshirt freshman Blake West (2-0) got the energy going early at NIU's annual Huskie Duals event this past Saturday, earning falls against each of his foes. At 125, West opened the Lindenwood dual by pinning Austin Kegley at 2:05 to give the Huskies the early lead. NIU went on to win that dual 44-6 before West opened the Harper College dual with yet another pin. West pinned Chris Kish at 2:21 to give NIU another early advantage before the Huskies beat the Hawks 52-6.
Dan Segura, Ohio, Sophomore
Columbus, Ohio (Dublin Scioto), 157 lbs.
Segura (3-0) placed first at the Mountaineer Invitational in the open division. He opened with a 9-5 decision in the quarterfinals before winning his semifinals match with a 4-1 decision. Segura took first place with a 6-1 decision.
Colton McKiernan, SIUE, Senior
Richmond, Mich. (Richmond HS), 285 lbs.
Recorded second first-period fall in a row and improved to 2-0 for the season. He pinned Rider's David Szuba in 2 minutes, 28 seconds. McKiernan had just two falls in all of last season.
