AKRON, Ohio -- The Kent State Golden Flashes kept hold of the lead on the final day of competition to finish off their impressive 2021 season with a 22nd consecutive Mid-American Conference Women's Golf Championship. Kent State shot a 296 in the final round leading to an overall score of +14 (878).
2021 MAC Golfer of the Year, and All-MAC First Team recipient Caley McGinty shot a -2 (70) on the final day to capture the individual title with a score of -4 (212).
Lauren Ingle finished tied for 3rd on the individual leaderboard to lead runner-up Northern Illinois in the field.
McGinty is joined on the first team by teammates Emily Price and Kory Nielsen, and Chloe Salort. Lauren Ingle of Northern Illinois also earned a spot on the first team after a strong senior season.
The All-MAC Second Team is composed of Jenn David of Akron, Hadley Moritz from Ball State, Eastern Michigan's Olivia Loberg, Kent State's Marissa Kirkwood, and Jasmine Ly from Northern Illinois.
The 2021 Sportswoman of the Year was awarded to Liz Kim of Ball State for her positive rapport with competitors and fellow teammates throughout the year.
