Eastern Michigan Wins MAC Men's Indoor Track Title

MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. -
For the first time since 2018 the Eastern Michigan Eagles captured the MAC Indoor title on Saturday at the 2021 MAC Indoor Track and Field Championships. 

Baldvin Magnusson led the Eagles in a big way Saturday, becoming the 5th straight Eagle to win the men's mile run, finishing with a time of 4:09.23. Magnusson continued his fantastic MAC meet by tallying a new MAC record in the 3000m. 

Akron notched a pair of victories in the 60m hurdles and 400m. Patrick Kimball and Zarik Brown each earned big points for the Zips with Kimball finishing the hurdles in 8.00, and Brown crossing the line in the 400 in 47.71. 
 
2019 MAC Indoor Triple Jump champion Hesham Eldesouky of Akron reclaimed his title in 2021 with a jump of 15.81m. 

The Zips Amir Willis made it back-toback victories for Akron in the 60m dash, clocking in with a time of 6.76. Willis also grabbed the top time in the 200m, finishing in 21.48.
 
Brandon Hochbein won the Men’s Heptathlon after collecting 5245 points throughout the seven events. 

The Buffalo Bulls finished the field events in style, winning the shot put and the men's high jump. Brandon Burke tallied the top mark in the high jump at 2.19m, while his teammate Jonathan Surdej won the shot put with a distance of 16.92m.
