Ball State:
A School Record On Senior Day

MUNCIE, Ind. -- For the third time in four weeks, the Ball State gymnastics team has set a school record. The Cardinals totaled a 195.850 team score, honored their seniors and finished their home finale strong in a meet win over North Carolina. Ball State had scored a school-record team mark of 195.800 last week at Northern Illinois and got a consistent effort from everyone to beat that against UNC on Sunday. The Cardinals posted their best beam score of the year (48.800) and were close to season highs in all events. For seniors Maddie MacDonald, Bri Slonim and Rachel Benoit, it was their last competition in Muncie. Slonim had her best vault score of the season (9.875) and Benoit tied her season bests with 9.800 marks on both beam and floor. Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Sweep Brown, Rhode Island College For Best Win Total Since 2002

Providence, R.I. – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team dominated the floor exercise and the vault to rally past Brown University in a tri-meet Sunday afternoon. The Falcons also defeated Rhode Island College as BGSU put together one of its most complete performances of the 2020 season. The Falcons recorded a team score of 193.900 to overcome a deficit of more than a full point at the halfway point of the meet. East Wins Two Events And All-Around At Temple Quad Meet
 
PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – Jovannah East scored a 39.225 in the all-around and won both the vault and floor exercise Friday night as the Bowling Green State University gymnastics team competed at Temple's quad meet. Penn won the meet with a score of 194.000, followed by Temple at 193.975. West Chester scored a 192.000 and BGSU ended with a 188.700. The Falcons fall to 8-12 on the season with the defeats. East tied her season best scores on both floor and vault, scoring a 9.900 on floor. She added a 9.875 on vault.  Full Story…
 
Central Michigan:
Hammond Leads Outstanding Bars Performance By Chippewa Gymnasts

DURHAM, N.H. – Audriana Hammond set a career high on the uneven parallel bars to highlight the performance of the Central Michigan gymnasts on Sunday during their nonconference quad meet at New Hampshire's Whittemore Center. Hammond, a freshman from Elk Rapids, posted a 9.950 to win the event. Her previous career best was a 9.800, which she set last weekend at Illinois. Hammond's score ties Hannah DeMers for the best bar score recorded by a Chippewa this season. Entering Sunday's action, only 11 bar scores nationwide have been better than those of Hammond and DeMers. The Chippewas finished with a 195.175 team score to place third in the quad. Eastern Michigan:
Eagles Unable to Takedown the Spartans in East Lansing

EAST LANSING, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team fell to Michigan State University, 195.625-194.200, Saturday March 7, in a non-conference meet at Jenison Field House. EMU (3-7, 1-4 MAC) began the day on bars and trailed after the first rotation, 48.200-48.825. Junior Jada Rondeau (Savage, Minn.-Central) led all Eastern Michigan scorers, hitting 9.825 for second place. Sophomore Kara Roberts (Pinckney, Mich.-Pinckney) earned a score of 9.675, while junior Cali Harden (Saline, Mich.-Saline) chipped in a score of 9.650, earning seventh and eighth, respectively. Full Story...

Kent State:
Flashes Post Big Score in Loss to Broncos

KALAMAZOO, MICH. – The Kent State gymnastics team posted its second-highest score of the season in a loss to Western Michigan on the road on Sunday afternoon. Despite the loss, the Golden Flashes posted another score above 195.000 which was crucial for their postseason hopes. The Flashes look to jump up from 40th in the country into the top-36. The Golden Flashes tied their highest floor score of the season (49.350). Freshman Karlie Franz recorded a career-high 9.900 and finished in second place. All five counting scores for the Flashes were above 9.850 including junior Abby Fletcher and senior Jade Brown who tied for fourth place with a 9.875.  Full Story...

Northern Illinois:
Huskies Consistent Again in Win Over Illinois State
 
DeKALB, Ill. – The consistency of the Northern Illinois University gymnastics team was once again on display as the Huskies hit routine after routine in a 195.725-191.300 victory over Illinois State Friday night in the NIU Convocation Center's Victor E. Court. With its 195.725, NIU has now recorded three of its top 10 team scores all-time in 2020 as Friday's score tied for eighth in the record book.  The Huskies improved to 5-6 on the season and are 4-2 in the MAC entering the regular season finale next weekend at Bowling Green. Full Story…

Western Michigan:
Broncos March Back, Down Kent State on Senior Day

KALAMAZOO, Mich. – A second consecutive back-and-forth battle this time swung in favor of the Western Michigan gymnastics team Sunday as the Broncos came back for a 196.075-195.500 victory against Kent State on Senior Day inside University Arena. The Broncos, who honored seniors Taylor Buis and Amelia Mohler after the meet, held the lead after the first two rotations before the Golden Flashes came up with a huge floor score to go in front heading to the final rotation.
