AKRON, Ohio - The Eastern Michigan Eagles captured the 2020 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship, with a final point total of 104.

Miami’s Olivia Bechtel etched her name in the MAC record book by posted a 53.43 in the 400m to set a Championship Meet Record. 

Kent State’s Grace Tennant picked up the Golden Flashes first individual title of the weekend, with a throw of 5.83m (51’ 11 ¼”) in the shot put.

Akron’s Lucy Bryan captured her fourth-consecutive pole vault title in record setting fashion. The senior cleared 4.44m (14' 6¾") to set a championship meet record.

In the 60m Hurdles, Eastern Michigan’s Alysse Wade clocked a time of 8.43 to take home the gold.
 
Eastern Michigan’s Quintella Johnson became the Eagles first individual high jump champion with a clearance of 1.74m (5’ 8½”).

Toledo’s Petronela Simiuc claimed her first individual title of the meet with a 4:46.93 performance in the mile. She followed that up with a 2:07.46 performance in the 800m, securing her second individual title of the championships.
 
NIU’s Ashley Tutt continued to shine in the distance events, picking up her second individual title of the championships with a 9:30.04 in the 3000m. The sophomore was tabbed the Most Valuable Performer of the 2020 meet.

The 60m dash saw Eastern Michigan on the top of the podium with a 1-2 finish. Freshman Alyson Davis notched a 7.50, while senior Brittni Mason followed .02 later.

Junior MaQuila Norman of Ball State won the Cardinals first event on Saturday when she tallied a time of 23.87 to win the 200m.

NIU's Jehvania Whyte won her third Indoor T&F title with a victory in the triple jump with a championship distance of 13.21m (43' 4¼").

The 2020 Championship meet concluded with Bowling Green winning the 4x400 Relay. The quad of Ryen Draper, Jazz Gaiters, Savannah Nevels, and Iyanna Ross clocked a 3:41.47 becoming the first Falcons to ever win the event.

Selections for the 2020 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be announced on March 3rd at 10:00 pm ET.
