Kent State's Pippen Named Men's Basketball Player of the Week

Senior Danny Pippen helped the Flashes improve to 3-1 overall in his efforts in wins over Detroit Mercy and Northern Kentucky. Pippen led Kent State on the road against Detroit Mercy with a second career-high 23 points against Detroit Mercy. Pippen went 8-of-17 from the floor and shot 4-of-9 from beyond the arc. Against Northern Kentucky, Pippen scored his fourth-straight double-figure game with 19 points. He grabbed a total seven rebounds and dished out a career-best six assists. In his last four games, Pippen is averaging 17 points per game and 6.3 rebounds for the season.
 
Kent State stands 3-1 overall on the season. The Flashes are back in action on Saturday, Dec. 19 for the first installment of the across-town rivalry match against the Zips. The rivalry showdown will take place at the M.A.C. Center with a 2 p.m. tipoff.
