Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll & All-MAC Teams Announced

CLEVELAND, Ohio - Bowling Green has been selected to win the MAC regular season and tournament title in the 2020-21 Men's Basketball Preseason Coaches Poll. Bowling Green received a total of eight first place votes to win the regular season championship, while grabbing four votes to win the Tournament title. Ten of the league's top men's basketball players were also selected to the Preseason All-MAC first and second teams as announced by the league office.

The Falcons return nine letterwinners from last year's 21-win team that entered the MAC Tournament as the No. 2 overall seed. Justin Turner, already a two-time First Team All-MAC selection, enters the 2020-21 season just 344 points shy of becoming the program's all-time leading scorer. Plowden, a Second Team All-MAC selection a season ago, needs 218 points to reach the 1,000-point milestone. BGSU's third senior, Trey Diggs, led the Falcons last year with a 39.1 three-point percentage.

The Preseason All-MAC first team features Akron's Loren Cristian Jackson, Bowling Green's Justin Turner, Buffalo's Jayvon Graves, Ohio's Jason Preston and Toledo's Marreon Jackson. Cristian Jackson earned MAC Player of the Year honors last season, while Graves and Turner each earned first team All-MAC accolades a year ago.

The Preseason All-MAC second team is comprised of Ball State's Ishmael El-Amin, Bowling Green's Daeqwon Plowden, Buffalo's Josh Mballa, Kent State's Danny Pippen & Ohio's Ben Vander Plas.

The MAC regular season gets underway on Wednesday, November 25. Conference action begins on Friday, December 4th as teams will start to fight for position in the MAC Men's Basketball Tournament that will take place on March 11-13 at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio.
