Gym Cards Post Season-Best Effort At Denver
DENVER - Flying across the country and competing in a meet with the No. 5 team in the nation, the Ball State gymnastics team answered the bell and turned in its best performance of the year. The Cardinals totaled a 194.875 score to place second in the three-team meet Sunday afternoon. Like they've done all season, the Cardinals made their mark in the floor exercise and on the vault. Stefanie Schweikert landed a 9.850 on vault and Bri Slonim, Arden Hudson and Marissa Nychyk each went 9.825. All six vaulters were at least 9.725 on vault.

Bowling Green:
Falcons Post Season-Best Score, East Wins All-Around In Kalamazoo
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team posted a plethora of strong individual results as the Falcons earned their highest team score of the 2020 season Sunday. BGSU scored 193.975, but came up just short of Western Michigan's 194.925. The Broncos improve to 4-3 on the season and 3-0 in MAC competition, while BGSU drops to 3-5 overall and 0-3 in the MAC. Jovannah East won two events as well as the all-around with a score of 39.225. Taylor Worthington placed first on the beam and Alexandra Fochler finished her third consecutive meet with a top three finish on the uneven bars.

Central Michigan:
Chippewa Gymansts Drop MAC Dual
DeKALB, Ill. – The Central Michigan gymnastics team dropped a Mid-American Conference dual at Northern Illinois on Sunday at the Huskies' Convocation Center. NIU finished with 195.075 points, while the Chippewas finished with 194.550. CMU is 3-3, 1-1 MAC. They go to Southern Utah for a nonconference dual on Friday, Feb. 7 (9 p.m.). CMU freshman Hannah Demers won the all-around with a 39.150 score. She placed second (9.850) on floor exercise, tied for fourth on uneven parallel bars (9.775), tied for fifth on vault (9.800), and was fifth on balance beam (9.725).

Eastern Michigan:
Eagles Best Lindenwood With Season-High Score of 195.325
ST. CHARLES, Mo. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team bested Lindenwood University Sunday, Feb. 2, 195.325-193.625, in non-conference action. The Green and White hit a season-high with the overall score of 195.325, as well as set two season-high event scores, in route to a 2-2 overall record on the season. The Eagles started the day on bars, led by junior Cortney Bezold who tied her career-high on the event, scoring 9.900 and claiming first place. The junior was followed by classmate Jada Rondeau and sophomore Kara Roberts, who scored 9.750 and 9.725, respectively. Junior Cali Harden also contributed a 9.625. The Green and White trailed at the end of the first rotation, 38.200-38.900.

Kent State:
Flashes Post Highest Score in MAC This Season in Win over George Washington
KENT, Ohio – The Kent State gymnastics team came out firing today in the M.A.C. Center and scored a season-high 196.050, posting the highest score in the Mid-American Conference this season and beating George Washington for the second time in three weeks. The last time the Flashes scored a 196.000 or better was against Bowling Green in 2018. As a team, the Golden Flashes posted a season-high on three events including their best score on floor since the 2018 season. They posted a 49.350 floor, a 49.000 on bars and a 48.975 on vault.

Huskies Defeat CMU with Season-Best Score
DeKALB, Ill. – Sophomore Morgan Hooper won two events and the Northern Illinois University Huskies earned their highest team score of the season as they defeated Central Michigan, 195.075-194.550 Sunday at the NIU Convocation Center. The Huskies got solid performances throughout the line-up and did not count a "miss" for the first this season as NIU head coach Sam Morreale saw his team put their best meet of the season together. NIU improved to 2-2 overall and 2-1 in the Mid-American Conference with the victory.

Western Michigan:
Gymnastics Continues Winning Ways, Tops BGSU
KALAMAZOO, Mich. – The Western Michigan gymnastics team returned home and continued its winning ways on Sunday, topping Bowling Green 194.925-193.975 inside University Arena. With the victory, the Broncos improve to 4-0 in dual meets and 3-0 in Mid-American Conference action. WMU's last 3-0 start in MAC dual meets came in 2012, when it recorded victories against Kent State, Northern Illinois and Bowling Green. The Broncos' 4-0 dual mark is the best since beginning 2012 at 5-0.
