Ball State:
Great Energy In Worthen As Gym Cards Win Again
MUNCIE - Hosting three other teams in front of an energetic crowd in Worthen Arena, the Ball State gymnastics team continued its winning ways by placing first in the team's home opener on Sunday afternoon. Ball State scored 194.200 on the day and had the top two scorers on vault and floor. Marissa Nychyk delivered a 9.900 on vault and Claudia Goyco hit the same number on floor as the Cardinals turned in their best effort of the season. Seven different Cards had a routine of 9.750 or better. Ball State owned five of the top nine vault marks and five of the top scores on floor. Saleem says the Cards can be sharper on bars and beam.

Bowling Green:
Falcons Place Second At Ball State Quad Meet
MUNCIE, Ind. – The Bowling Green State University gymnastics team rallied late to place second out of four teams at the Ball State Quad Meet Sunday. The Falcons sat in fourth after two rotations but posted scores of 48.525 on floor and 48.800 on vault to earn runner-up honors. BGSU scored a 192.725 to defeat Southeast Missouri State (191.450) and Wisconsin-La Crosse (188.375). Ball State won the meet with a score of 194.175. BGSU had its best score of the season on both vault and floor, posting the best score of the day on uneven bars. The Falcons move to 3-4 on the season, surpassing the team's 2019 win total.

Pedrick Wins All-Around, Takes Meet MVP Award
COLUMBUS, Ohio – Denelle Pedrick won the all-around and earned the meet Most Valuable Performer Award on Saturday to lead the Central Michigan gymnastics team at a nonconference tri-meet at Ohio State's Covelli Center. Pedrick, a senior, posted a 39.375 score, winning the all-around for the second-consecutive meet. She was first in the Chippewas' dual-meet win last weekend at Eastern Michigan. The Chippewas posted a 194.325 team score to finish third behind first-place Ohio State (195.500) and Maryland (195.250).

Gymnastics Drops Home Meet To Western Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. – The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team fell late to MAC opponent Western Michigan University, 195.175-194.650, Jan. 24, on Epilepsy Awareness Night inside the Convocation Center. The night was dedicated to Ella Dover, a valued member of the team through Team Impact, with the squad and fans wearing purple in support of Epilepsy awareness. Starting off on vault, the Eagles took an early lead with a score of 48.725 to Western's 48.700, as senior Emili Dobronics led the way, tying her career-best score of 9.800 on the vault. Freshman Hannah Hartung and junior Jada Rondeau aided along the way as they both marked their season-highs with scores of 9.775 and 9.725, respectively. Junior Cali Harden and sophomore Kara Roberts added to the overall score with scores of 9.700 and 9.725.

Flashes Pick Up Second Straight Quad Win
DENTON, Texas – The Kent State gymnastics team secured its second-consecutive quad win with wins over Texas Woman's, Lindenwood and UW-Oshkosh. The Golden Flashes put together a team score of 194.950. The Flashes posted a season-high 49.100 on floor, a 48.850 on vault, a 48.825 on bars and a 48.125 on beam. All five scores for Kent State on floor were 9.800 or better. Freshman Karlie Franz scored a career-high 9.850 on floor, a career-high 9.825 on bars, a 9.775 on vault and a 9.750 on beam to finish with an all-around score of 39.200.

Huskies Earn Season-Best Score in Loss to Illinois State
NORMAL, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University gymnastics team earned its highest team score of the season, led by sophomore Tara Kofmehl (Mesa, Ariz./Red Mountain HS) who won two events, but the Huskies fell to intrastate rival Illinois State, 193.625-193.400 Friday night at Horton Field House in Normal, Illinois. Kofmehl won both the vault and floor exercise events as she helped NIU to its best team scores of the season on both events. Her 9.900 on floor exercise was the Huskies' highest individual score on any event this year. The Mesa, Ariz. native also won vault with a 9.825 on that event.

Western Michigan:
Gymnastics Comes Back, Defeats Eastern Michigan
YPSILANTI, Mich. – Trailing after each of the first two rotations, the Western Michigan gymnastics team came back for a 195.175-194.650 victory at Eastern Michigan inside the Convocation Center on Friday evening. With the victory, the Broncos improve to 3-0 in dual meets and 2-0 in Mid-American Conference action. It is the first time Western Michigan has started a season 3-0 in dual competition and 2-0 in the MAC since 2013. The team score marks the second-highest of the season for the Broncos as they finished with a 195.275 in the season opener against Michigan State.
