AURORA, Ohio -- Overnight rain & cold temperatures left Club Walden unplayable on Sunday as Kent State and Eastern Michigan shared the MAC title in a weather shortened 36-hole championship. Both schools finished the tournament with a 581 (+5). The Eagles claim their third MAC Championship, while the Golden Flashes claim their 26th. The Golden Flashes earned the league’s automatic NCAA Regional qualifying spot on a tiebreaker -- cumulative total of non-counting scores (151-154).

University of Toledo senior Duncan McNeill became the fifth Rocket in program history to capture medalist honors at the conference championships. Ciaran McAleavey was the last Toledo golfer to do so in 2008 with the Rockets' other MAC medalists including Brad Heaven in 2004, Mike Stone in 1992 and Tim Hirt in 1979, 1980 and 1981. Tim Rice tied for first place in 1997.

Eastern Michigan's Beau Breault was named the Mid-American Conference Men's Golfer of the Year, while Head Coach Bruce Cunningham was selected the Kermit Blosser MAC Coach of the Year. Breault joins Korey Mahoney (2006) and Graham Hill (2007) as the only EMU student-athletes to capture the honor since it began in 1994. Meanwhile, Cunningham claimed the league's Coach of the Year honor for the third-time in his coaching career. The 26-year EMU mentor previously won the award in 2007 and 2008 when the Eagles also took home their other MAC titles. He joins KSU's Herb Paige, Miami's Rodger Cromer, and Ball State's Earl Yestingsmeier as the only coaches in league history to earn the accolade three-or-more times in a caree

Ball State's Joe Ranieri was named Freshman of the Year, while teammate Timothy Wiseman was named the winner of the Earl Yestingsmeier Sportsmanship Award.
