Women's Tennis Tops Buffalo, 6-1
BUFFALO, N.Y. – The University of Akron women's tennis team upset defending MAC champion Buffalo, 6-1, in Mid-American Conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Miller Tennis Center. The Zips (19-5 overall, 4-2 MAC) started out strong against the Bulls (14-6 overall, 3-3 MAC), taking the doubles point with wins at No. 1 and 2. At No. 1 for the Zips, junior captain Rita Pedroso (Porto, Portugal) and sophomore Miruna Vasilescu (Ulm, Germany) defeated Chantel Martinez Blanco and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou, 6-3.

Ball State:
Cardinals Roll Over NIU, 7-0
ROCKFORD, Ill. - The Ball State women's tennis team (16-4, 9-1 MAC) registered its second-straight Mid-American Conference sweep when it took down Northern Illinois (5-15, 0-7 MAC) on the road Sunday afternoon at the Boylan Tennis Center. The No. 2 duo of Peyton Gollhofer and Isabelle Dohanicsdominated doubles action, as the twosome was the first off the court for the Cardinals. Gollhofer and Dohanics defeated NIU's Fernanda Naves and Brodie Walker, 6-3.

Bowling Green:
Falcons Drop Match To Miami
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – Bowling Green came up short against the MAC leader, Miami, by a score of 4-3. The Falcons made a strong push, taking an early 2-0 lead, but the RedHawks continued to fight, winning the match in its final set. The loss moves the Falcons record to 9-10 on the season while a 2-4 standing within the conference.

Buffalo:
Women's Tennis Falls To Akron
WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's team dropped their final regular season home match on Saturday afternoon as the Bulls fell to Akron, 6-1, at Miller Tennis Center. The Zips took the early lead in doubles with victories at first and second doubles. UB got on the board first in singles as junior Emel Abibula was dominant in her match at five as she dropped just one game in 6-0, 6-1 victory. However, the Zips won the remaining five matches, including three of those in straight sets.

RedHawks Earn 4-3 Win At Bowling Green
BOWLING GREEN, Ohio - The Miami University women's tennis team continued to roll Saturday with a 4-3 win over the host Bowling Green Falcons that kept the RedHawks atop the MAC and pushed their winning streak to 6 matches. Miami improves to 9-10 overall and 5-1 in the conference. With the victory, the 'Hawks can clinch at least a share of the MAC regular season title with a win over Western Michigan next week or a WMU loss of its three remaining matches.

Huskies Fall To Ball State In Season Finale
ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team fell to Ball State, 7-0, in the season finale at the Boylan Tennis Center Sunday. The Huskies (5-15, 0-7), who were down three starters from their lineup for the second straight week, lost the doubles point, and were unable to secure a victory in singles play.

Rockets Grounded By Broncos
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Toledo women's tennis team fell 5-2 to Western Michigan on the road Sunday afternoon. The match featured two-set sweeps from seniors Claire Aleck and Thalita Rodrigues. The Rockets fought hard for the doubles point but were unable to close, despite freshman Elieen Carney and Aleck's 6-1 win over Denise Azcui/Gabriela Slavova on the No. 3 court.

Broncos Celebrate Senior Day With Won Over Toledo
KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Western Michigan women's tennis team earned a 5-2 win over the University of Toledo Sunday afternoon inside West Hills Athletic Club during Senior Day. The 2019 senior class of Denise Azcui, Katja Fevralev, and Melina Lyubomirova were honored prior to the match and each came away with singles victories for the Broncos. WMU improves to 4-1 in the MAC and closes out its home schedule with an 11-3 record.
