Ball State:
Women's Tennis Closes Spring Break With Win Over UC Riverside


MUNCIE, Ind. - The Ball State women's tennis team improved to 10-2 overall after closing its spring break trip to California with a 5-2 victory over UC Riverside. The Cardinals won the doubles point taking all three courts from the Highlanders. Victoria Secand Sarah Swiderski along with teammates Isabelle Dohanics and Peyton Gollhofer won on courts two and three, respectively by a score of 6-1. Audrey Berger paired up with Rebecca Herrington on the top court. Cardinals Earn 6-1 Win Over Azusa Pacific

AZUSA, Calif. – The Ball State women's tennis team won its first spring break match in California Thursday, after posting a 6-1 victory over Division II nationally ranked No. 12 Azusa Pacific at the Munson and Bavougian Tennis Complex. With the win, the Cardinals improved their overall record to 9-2 while Azusa Pacific dropped to 5-3.  Full Story...

Bowling Green:
Falcons Complete Sweep Of Dayton

BOWLING GREEN, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program completed the 7-0 sweep against Dayton on Friday (March 8). The sweep is the Falcons third of the season, their highest total since the 2011-12 season. The win moves Bowling Green's record to 6-5 on the season, while Dayton falls to 3-8. This also marks the conclusion of the Falcons non-conference play as they begin preparation for MAC opponents. Full Story...

Buffalo:
Women's Tennis Tops Oakland

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won their fourth straight match on Saturday as the Bulls defeated Oakland, 5-2. UB improves to 10-3 with the win. The Bulls took the doubles point with wins at first and third doubles.  The first victory came at three as Emel Abibula and Hsin-Yuan Shih won their match, 6-2.  After Oakland won at two, UB clinched the point as Chantal Martinez Blanco and Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou won at first doubles, 6-2. Full Story...

Bulls Roll To A Pair Of Wins

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team swept its pair of matches on Friday with a pair of 7-0 wins over Binghamton and St. Bonaventure at Miller Tennis Center.  The Bulls improved to 9-3 with the wins. UB began with a short-handed Binghamton squad this afternoon as the Bulls picked up wins by default at third doubles and fifth and sixth singles. Buffalo claimed the doubles point and Chantal Martinez Blanco and Nikoleta Antoniou Karademitrou won easily at first doubles, 6-0, while Emel Abibula and Hsin-Yuan Shih won at second doubles, 6-2. Full Story...

Miami:
Women's Tennis Drops Decision To Penn

ORLANDO, Fla. - In the second leg of its Florida trip, the Miami University women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to the Penn Quakers Saturday at the USTA National Campus. The RedHawks fall to 2-9 with the defeat. The Quakers would start doubles with 6-2 win on the second court, but the RedHawks quickly answered back with a win on the third court as Makenzie Myers and Janelle Ghanem combined for a 6-4 victory. However, Penn would still claim the opening point with a 6-4 win at first doubles.  Full Story...

RedHawks Fall At UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - In the first of two weekend matches in Florida, the Miami University women's team fell 7-0 to #27 University of Central Florida Saturday at the USTA National Campus. The RedHawks fall to 2-8 with the loss while the Knights improve to 11-2. The doubles point was closely contested, but ultimately went to UCF. After a quick 6-0 at the second doubles court, the Knights closed it out with a narrow 7-5 win at third doubles. First doubles was also close, left unfinished at 6-5. Full Story...

Huskies Extend Win Streak To Three

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Northern Illinois University women's team extended its winning streak to three after defeating Bucknell, 5-2, at the USTA National Campus Wednesday. After dropping the doubles point, the Huskies (5-8) went on to win five of the six singles matches with the Bison (8-2). Jovana Peric (Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina/Center for Education) rallied from a first set setback to win, 4-6, 6-4, 1-0 at No. 1 singles.  Full Story...

Women's Tennis Tops Bethune-Cookman

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. – The Northern Illinois University women's team won its second consecutive match as it defeated Bethune-Cookman, 4-1, at the City Island Tennis Center Tuesday. The Huskies (4-8) took the doubles point with wins at Nos. 2 and 3 doubles. Maria Potsi (Athens, Greece/1st Gel Cholargou) and Fernanda Naves(Mexico City, Mexico) teamed up for a 7-5 victory at No. 2 doubles, while Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar) and Paula Veyhle(Stuttgart, Germany) posted a 6-2 win at No. 3 doubles.  Full Story...

Huskies Defeat IUPUI

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team ended a six match winless drought with a 4-3 victory over IUPUI at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday. After losing the doubles point, the Huskies (3-8) won four of the six singles matches to score the victory. Jovana Peric (Brcko, Bosnia and Herzegovina/Center for Education), who had been out of the lineup for the last five matches, earned a hard-fought, 7-6, 7-5 victory at No. 2 singles. Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar) cruised in her straight set victory at No. 3 singles, winning 6-2, 6-2 over Sarah Lounsburg. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Falls To UIC

ROCKFORD, Ill. – The Northern Illinois University women's team suffered a 7-0 setback to UIC at the Boylan Tennis Center Friday. After losing the doubles point, the Huskies (2-8) dropped its six singles matches. Brodie Walker (Bristol, England/Bristol Grammar) and Paula Veyhle (Stuttgart, Germany) battled, but came up short. Walker lost her match at No. 2 singles, 6-4, 6-4. After losing the first set, 6-2 to Georgie Sanders at No. 4 singles, Veyhle pushed her opponent in the second set, but ultimately fell, 7-6. Full Story...

Rockets Fall To Lynn

BOCA RATON, Fla. -- The Toledo women's tennis team fell 6-1 to nationally ranked Division II opponent Lynn in the last match of its spring break run in Boca Raton, Fla. on Thursday. The Rockets dropped the doubles point despite a 6-4 win from the No. 2 team of Kiersten Carlson and Thalita Rodrigues. In singles play senior Claire Aleck put Toledo on the board, sweeping Anastacia Parkin 6-2, 6-1 at the No. 6 position.  Full Story...
