Northern Illinois Wins 2019 MAC Gymnastics Championship
Final Results
DEKALB, Ill. - The host Northern Illinois Huskies captured their first ever MAC Championship in front of their home crowd Saturday in DeKalb, Illinois. The Huskies posted an overall score of 195.975 led by their outstanding performance on the beam (49.275).
The Huskies Anna Martucci and Mia Lord both earned individual victories at the Championship, with Martucci tying for gold in the floor exercise and Lord tying with Bowling Green's Jovannah East for the Balance Beam title.
Chippewa senior Gianna Plaksa shared the top spot for Uneven Bars with Kent State senior Dara Williams and Western Michigan's Alexis Olivier. Each of them tallied a 9.850 in the event.
Central Michigan junior and 2019 MAC Gymnast of the Year, Denelle Pedrick won the vault as well as the all-around competition with scores of 9.900 and 39.350 respectively.
