Women's Tennis Tops Bowling Green 4-3


AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team captured its ninth consecutive win with a 4-3 victory over Bowling Green in Mid-American Conference play on Sunday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. The Zips (17-3 overall, 2-0 MAC) dropped the doubles point to the Falcons (7-8 overall, 0-2 MAC). Akron rebounded in singles action, claiming victories in the first four matches for the team win. Full Story...

Zips Open MAC Play With 4-3 Win

AKRON, Ohio – The University of Akron women's tennis team open Mid-American Conference play with a 4-3 win over Miami (Ohio) on Friday afternoon at the LaTuchie Tennis Center. The Zips (16-3 overall, 1-0 MAC) captured their eighth consecutive win on the season. UA dropped the doubles point to Miami (3-10 overall, 0-1 MAC). Akron rebounded in singles action, claiming four victories for the team win.  Full Story...

Ball State:
Cardinals Sweep Toledo


TOLEDO, Ohio - The Ball State women's tennis team closed its first weekend of Mid-American Conference action on a high note after taking down Toledo 7-0 Sunday afternoon at the Twos Athletic Club. Beginning with doubles action, senior Audrey Berger and junior Rebecca Herrington continued to compete at the top spot for the Cardinals. The twosome, were the first pair off the court today after defeating the Rockets, Deedee Leenabanchong and Kokoro Chishaki, 6-1. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Suffers Loss To WMU

KALAMAZOO, Mich. - The Ball State women's tennis team (11-3, 0-1 MAC) opened Mid-American Conference action on the road today at Western Michigan (9-7, 0-1 MAC). The Cardinals unfortunately fell to the Broncos in a 4-3 showdown at West Hills Athletic Club. WMU opened the match strong by taking the doubles point from the Cardinals. Bowling Green:
Women's Tennis Drops Close Match At Akron


AKRON, Ohio – The Bowling Green State University tennis program came up on the short end of a hard fought match against the University of Akron on Sunday, March 24. After claiming the doubles point, the Falcons fell behind early in singles play, ultimately losing the match 4-3. In doubles, the duo of Paula Comella and Marharita-Sophia Tavpash captured a 6-0 victory to begin the match. Ayumi Sasaki and Marta Bettinelli joined in on the doubles win, securing the point for BGSU. With the loss, BGSU falls to 0-2 on the season within the MAC while holding a 7-8 overall record. Full Story...

Falcons Fall To Buffalo In MAC Opener

BUFFALO, N.Y. – The Bowling Green State University tennis program began the conference portion off their schedule on Friday, March 22, losing to Buffalo by a score of 6-1. The loss puts the Falcons young MAC record at 0-1, while moving their season standing to 7-7. BGSU was led by senior Paula Comella in singles play, who notched another win for the season. Bulls Fall To Miami


WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis teams suffered their first Mid-American Conference loss since the 2016-17 season on Sunday as the Bulls fell to Miami 4-3. UB won the doubles point with victories at one and two.  Freshman Pia Schwarz and senior Arianna Paules Aldrey were the first to finish with a 6-2 win at two and Chantal Martinez Blancoand Nikoleta Antoniou-Karademitrou won at one, 6-4.  UB led at three when the doubles point was halted. Full Story...

Women's Tennis Opens MAC Play With Win

WILLIAMSVILLE, NY – The University at Buffalo women's tennis team won its sixth straight match on Friday as the Bulls opened Mid-American Conference play with a 6-1 win over Bowling Green at Miller Tennis Center. UB opened action by securing the doubles point with wins at second and third doubles.  After BG won at one, Buffalo secured a victory at three as Emel Abibula and Hsin-Yuan Shih won, 6-4.  The Bulls then secured the point at second doubles in tiebreaking fashion as Pia Schwarz and Arianna Paules Aldrey won 7-6 (4). Full Story...

Miami:
Women's Tennis Comes Back At Buffalo


BUFFALO, N.Y. - A 3-1 deficit to the reigning conference champions wasn't enough to keep the Miami tennis team down Sunday, as the RedHawks rallied to win three straight nail-biters and take down Buffalo 4-3. The RedHawks improve to 4-10 (1-1 Mid-American Conference) while Buffalo falls to 12-4 (1-1 MAC). The Bulls claimed the doubles point to start the match, winning 6-2 at second doubles and 6-4 on the first court. RedHawks Drop Tight Match

AKRON, Ohio - In a match befitting of two Mid-American Conference contenders, the Miami University women's tennis team narrowly fell to the Akron Zips 4-3 on the road Friday as the RedHawks began their conference campaign. Miami falls to 3-10 (0-1 in the MAC) with the loss, while Akron improves to 16-3 (1-0 MAC). The two teams were picked third and second respectively in the conference preseason poll. The RedHawks were able to claim the doubles point to kick things off. Emily Struble and Melati Devi took a 6-2 victory at third doubles, while Milana Lysova and Brindtha Ramasamy closed out the point and gave Miami the 1-0 lead with a 6-3 win at first doubles. Full Story...

Rockford, Ill. - The Toledo women's tennis team opened Mid-American Conference action with a 5-2 victory over Northern Illinois in Rockford, Ill. on Friday. The Rockets picked up the doubles point with 6-3 wins on the No. 1 and No. 2 courts from junior Dee Dee Leenabanchong/senior Kokoro Chishaki and freshman Kiersten Carlson/senior Thalita Rodrigues.
