Bulls Get First Ever Win Over CMU
BUFFALO, NY – Trailing by four heading in the final match of the night, Troy Keller earned a technical fall win over Blake Montrie to give the University at Buffalo wrestling team a thrilling 18-17 victory over Central Michigan at Alumni Arena on Friday night. It was the Bulls' first-ever win over the Chippewas, after losing the previous 23 meetings. Starting the night at 174 lbs., Jake Lanning led off the dual with a 6-3 decision over Collin Lieber to give the Bulls a 3-0 lead. After Central Michigan earned the major decision at 184 to take a 4-3 lead, Brett Perry gave the Bulls the lead right back with a win at 197. Perry's 6-2 decision over Landon Pelham gave UB a 6-4 advantage.

Wrestlers Close Weekend With Win At Kent State
KENT, Ohio – Central Michigan scored bonus points in three of its six victories on Sunday as the Chippewas downed Kent State, 23-12, in a Mid-American Conference dual at the Golden Flashes' Memorial Athletic and Convention Center. The win lifted CMU to 4-7 overall and it finished 3-4 in MAC duals. The victory came on the heels of an 18-17 loss on Friday at Buffalo.

Chippewas Drop Dual At Buffalo
BUFFALO, N.Y. – A technical fall in the final match of the night proved to be the difference on Friday as the Central Michigan wrestling dropped a Mid-American Conference dual to Buffalo, 18-17, at the Bulls' Alumni Arena. The loss dropped CMU to 3-7, 2-4 MAC. Buffalo is 10-4, 3-2. The Chippewas go to Kent State on Sunday (1 p.m.) for their final MAC dual of the season. The teams split the 10 matches, with CMU getting two major-decision victories while the Bulls notched one major plus the technical fall to eke out the victory, their first ever over the Chippewas in 24 duals.

Flashed Drop 23-12 Decision To Chippewas
KENT, Ohio – Kent State stayed within striking distance of Central Michigan throughout Sunday afternoon, but the Chippewas won the final matchup to secure a 23-12 victory at the M.A.C. Center. The Golden Flashes won four bouts during the Beauty & The Beast event and trailed by just two points (14-12) after eight matches. Following a Chippewa win at 125, junior Tim Rooney (133) knotted the team score up 3-3 with a 10-4 decision over Brock Bergelin. After getting caught in a tilt for two seconds, Rooney quickly converted an escape to a throw, giving him a commanding 7-2 lead after two periods.

Tigers Win Road Dual At Arizona State, 30-12
TEMPE, Ariz. – Fifth-ranked Mizzou Wrestling improved to a perfect 15-0 with a 30-12 win over Arizona State Friday night (Feb. 8) in Tempe. Mizzou improved its winning streak to 35 consecutive duals and dating back to 2014, Mizzou has won 72 of its last 73 duals. Mizzou picked up pins at 133, 141, 174 and heavyweight. The highlight of the night came at 174 pounds as senior Daniel Lewis pinned the nation's No. 2 wrestler – reigning National Champion Zahid Valencia – in 4:15, extending Mizzou's lead to 21-9. It was Lewis' 11th pin of the year and 47th in his career, second-most in program history. Mizzou won nine of 10 bouts Friday.

Wrestling Defeats SIUE, 22-15
ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team (6-5, 4-2 MAC) earned a 22-15 Senior Day victory over SIUE (1-11, 1-6 MAC) in a Mid-American Conference matchup this afternoon at the Convocation Center. The Bobcats won the first four bouts to jump out to a 14-0 lead. The Cougars countered with four-straight victories to snag a 15-14 edge, but Ohio earned decisive wins in the final two weight classes to seal its fourth MAC victory of the 2018-19 season.

Bobcats Edged By Old Dominion
ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team (5-5, 3-2 MAC) was edged by Old Dominion (8-5, 5-2 MAC), 16-15, this evening at the Convocation Center, snapping a three-match Mid-American Conference winning streak for the Bobcats. It took the fifth tiebreaker in the NCAA rulebook to decide the winner, with the Monarches earning the victory based on a 13-9 advantage in takedowns in the dual meet.

Wrestling Falls To Navy
NORFOLK, Va. – The Old Dominion (8-6, 5-2 MAC) wrestling team dropped a 24-10 dual to Navy (6-2, 3-1 EIWA) on Monday night. Michael McGee, Larry Early and Ali Wahab picked up individual wins for ODU. Opening the dual at 174, ODU faced three setbacks to trail 12-0. At heavyweight, Ali Wahab scored a takedown in the final seconds of overtime to pick up the first win for the Monarchs. No. 17 Michael McGee earned a dominant 10-3 win over Jacob Allen to remain perfect in dual action. At 133 pounds, Trevon Majette fell to Casey Cobb.

Monarchs Defeat Ohio On Criteria, 16-15
ATHENS, Ohio -- The Old Dominion (8-5, 6-2 MAC) wrestling team defeated Ohio (5-5, 4-3 MAC) 16-15 off of criteria, of total takedowns, where ODU had 13 and Ohio had just nine. Starting at 149 pounds, Kevin Budock opened the dual with a close 3-2 decision. At 157, No. 6 Larry Early defeated No. 20 Zac Carson by a 10-6 decision to extend the ODU lead. In the first of three overtime bouts, Shane Jones fell to Colt Yinger by a 3-1 score. At 174, Luke Drugac picked up his second dual win with a 6-3 victory over Logan Stanley.
