KENT, Ohio- With a final score of 114.5, The Central Michigan Chippewas captured the 2019 Women's Indoor Track & Field Championship for their first title since 2004. 

After a very strong showing on Friday, The Chippewas broke into the MAC record books early on Satuday when CMU's Gabriella Beauvais posted a 53.55 in the 400m to set a new MAC Championship Meet Record and take the 2019 title. Beauvais was named Most Outstanding Track Performer for the two-day Championship. 

2019 Most Outstanding Field Performer Bowling Green's Aliyah Gustafson, continued to dominate the trowing events as she earned a clean sweep with a 17.22m (56-06.00) shot put.

In the 60m Hurdles, Ball State's Jazmin Smith clocked in a time of 8.29 to take home the gold. Smith won the same event for the cardinals in 2017. The Cardinals Regan Lewis also became a two-time MAC Champion as she defended her high jump title after a jump-off at 5-06.50.

The Zips Mackenzie Andrews had a strong Saturday, setting a Kent State facility record in the women's mile, crossing in 4:43.42, as well as winning the women's 3000m with a time of 9:41.03. Andrews was named 2019 MAC Most Valueble Performer for the Championship. 

The 60m dash saw Toledo's Shanice Williams defended her title from last season, crossing the line in just 7.37 seconds. 

Junior Nicole Yeargin of Kent State won the hosts first event on Saturday when she tallied a time of 23.66 to win the 200m.

NIU's Jehvania Whyte also won her second Indoor T&F title with a victory in the Triple Jump with a distance of 12.96m (42-06.25)!

Western Michigan tallied their first event win of the day when Sarah Anderson cruised to the winner's circle with a time of 2:08.20 in the women's 800m. The Broncos' team of Sarah Anderson, Erin Dowd, Taneidra Cain and Aiyanna Gaines won the women's 4x4 event. 

Selections for the 2019 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships will be announced on February 26th at 10:00 pm ET.
