Buffalo:
Wrestling Falls At Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, PA – Penn State showed why it's the top wrestling program in the country as it defeated the University at Buffalo, 47-3, in front of a capacity crowd at Rec Hall on Sunday afternoon. It was the final dual of a very successful season for the Bulls who finished with a 12-5 record – tying the school record for wins in a season as a Division I program. Kyle Akins earned the lone points for the Bulls winning a 5-0 decision over Justin Lopez at 125 lbs. in the opening match of the dual. It capped a strong weekend for the redshirt-sophomore who recorded a pin on Friday against Northern Illinois. Full Story...

Bulls Win Dual Over NIU

BUFFALO, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team closed out the home portion of its dual schedule with a 23-14 win over Northern Illinois on Friday afternoon. Due to a scheduling conflict, the dual was held at the Ed Wright Practice Facility in Alumni Arena. It was the Bulls' 12th dual win of the year, tying the school record for dual wins in a season as a Division I program. It was also Buffalo's program-best fifth Mid-American Conference dual win.  Full Story...

Central Michigan:
Wrestling Defeats Purdue, 20-15


MOUNT PLEASANT, Mich. – The Central Michigan wrestling team closed its dual-meet season on Sunday, getting key wins from junior Logan Parks and senior Jordan Atienza, in posting a 20-15 nonconference victory over Purdue at McGuirk Arena. The Chippewas won two of their last three duals to finish 5-8. They now turn their attention to the Mid-American Conference Championships March 8-9 at Old Dominion in Norfolk, Va. Full Story...

Chippewas Fall At Michigan State, 24-15

EAST LANSING, Mich. – Michigan State won six matches, two of them by pin, on Friday in handing Central Michigan a 24-15 nonconference dual meet loss at the Spartans' Jenison Field House. Michigan State improved to 10-8. The Chippewas lost the dual, but got two critically important victories, the firt from sophomore Drew Hildebrandt, and the second from senior Jordan Atienza. Full Story...

Kent State:
Flashes Drop Meet To Binghamton

KENT, Ohio – Kent State's Isaac Bast had his hand raised one final time at the M.A.C. Center on his Senior Night, but Binghamton came out ahead 22-15.  Three matches came down-to-the-wire Saturday night and all three went in favor of the Bearcats. Bast set the tone early with a takedown at the edge and cruised to a 14-6 major decision over Matt Swanson. A third period reversal and takedown along with riding time clinched the bonus point for the Flashes. Full Story...

Missouri:
Tigers Earn Road Win At No. 11 Iowa State

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Fifth-ranked Mizzou Wrestling closed its regular season with a 23-15 win over No. 11 Iowa State to finish the 2018-19 campaign with a 16-1 record. RS senior Daniel Lewis earned his 47th career pin in a Mizzou singlet, tied for the second-most in school history, trailing only two-time Hodge Trophy winner Ben Askren who had 91 in his career. Lewis wasn't the only Tiger to impress as RS senior John Erneste earned a technical fall over the nation's No. 8 wrestler and junior Jaydin Eierman also tallied a pin, his fifth straight and team-leading 14th this season.  Full Story...

Huskies Fall At Buffalo

BUFFALO – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team suffered a 23-14 setback to Buffalo in its 2018-19 regular season finale Friday. After NIU (8-10, 2-5) dropped the first three bouts of the match, McCoy Kent (Modesto, Calif./Enochs) put the Huskies on the board with an 8-4 decision over Jason Estevez at 149. Full Story...

Bobcats Top Gardner-Webb

BOILING SPRINGS, N.C. -- The Ohio wrestling team (8-6) finished the 2018-19 regular season strong, picking up a 31-15 road win over host Gardner-Webb (3-12) today at Paul Porter Arena. The Bobcats finished the regular season with a 4-3 record in non-conference dual meets. With the match beginning at 133 pounds, Gardner-Webb grabbed a 6-0 lead when redshirt freshman Brandon Bright won by forfeit.  Full Story...

Wrestling Wraps Up Regular Season With Win at Drexel

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – The Old Dominion (9-7, 5-2 MAC) wrestling team defeated Drexel (4-10, 1-4 EIWA) on Sunday afternoon, 23-12. Junior Tim Young defeated No. 11 Stephen Loiseau by a 5-4 decision at 197 pounds to highlight the afternoon. Opening the dual with a ranked Drexel opponent in No. 15 Ebed Jarrell, Shane Jones dropped a 6-1 decision, putting the Dragons ahead 3-0. Full Story...

Monarchs Drop Friday Dual At American

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Old Dominion (8-7, 5-2 MAC) wrestling team fell to American (7-4, 5-1 EIWA) on Friday night, 24-14. Five individuals in Tim Young, No. 14 Michael McGee, No. 14 Sa'Derian Perry, No. 6 Larry Early and Shane Jones won bouts on the road.  After returning to the mat since the first week of January, Antonio Agee was pinned in the second period. At 197, Tim Young answered for the Monarchs with an 11-2 major decision to pick up four team points for ODU. Wrestling Falls At Wisconsin

MADISON, Wis. - Jake McKiernan closed out the regular season on a high note Sunday with a fall in SIUE's 30-15 loss at Wisconsin. McKiernan collected a 2-minute, 20-second fall over Andrew Salemme at heavyweight. Christian Dulaney also scored six team points by accepting a forfeit at 197 pounds. Full Story...

Cougars Fall At Northwestern

EVANSTON, Ill. - Kevin Gschwendtner and Sergio Villalobos each collected victories Saturday in SIUE's 36-7 loss at Northwestern. It was the first of two weekend matches against Big Ten opponents. SIUE next travels to Wisconsin, which previously came to the Cougar Classic earlier this season. SIUE, 2-12, gave up bonus points to Northwestern, which used Senior Day to improve to 5-10 overall. Full Story...
