MAC Men’s Basketball East Division Player of the Week
Jason Preston, Ohio, Guard
Sophomore, Orlando, Fla.
Preston once again led the Bobcats during their final non conference game on Dec. 29. Preston scored 19 points, going 4-of-10 from the field, 1-of-4 from three-point range and was 10-of-12 from the free throw line. Preston also grabbed six rebounds, dished out four assists and had two steals in the Bobcats game against Campbell.
MAC Men’s Basketball West Division Player of the Week
Ishmael El-Amin, Ball State, Guard
Junior, Minneapolis, Minn. (Hopkins)
El-Amin averaged 16.0 points, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 assists and 2.0 steals over two games last week for Ball State. The junior guard scored a game-high 18 points in Wednesday’s win over Portland. He scored 15 of his 18 points in the second half to help the Cardinals break open a tie game at the half for a double-digit victory. El-Amin also had 14 points two days earlier against UTEP. He leads BSU in scoring for the season at 14.5 points per game.

Luke Knapke, Toledo, Center
Senior, Maria Stein, Ohio
Knapke scored 13 points, grabbed a team-high nine rebounds, dished out three assists and blocked a game-high three shots for Toledo in its lone contest last Saturday at Bradley. He made 5-of-9 shots from the field and was 1-of-3 behind the three-point arc. Knapke is the only Rocket to score in double digits in every game this season and ranks second on the team with 16.3 points and 8.5 rebounds per game. He also leads the MAC with 2.7 blocks per game and now has a school-record 171 blocked shots.
B. Artis White, Western Michigan, Guard
Freshman, Canton, Mich. (Canton)
White turned in a stellar performance against one of the nation’s best, scoring a team-high 12 points on 5-of-11 shooting from the field at No. 14 Michigan State. White also poured in four rebounds and a career-high six assists against the Spartans. White notched his fifth double-digit performance of the season and first since have 13 points back on Dec. 7 against Youngstown State. It was the first time in his career, White has been the leading scorer for the Broncos. White heading into MAC play ranks third on the team with 7.4 points per game.
