Buffalo:
Bulls Split A Pair of Duals at Journeyman Classic

TROY, NY – The University at Buffalo wrestling team split a pair of duals at the Journeyman Classic on Saturday, cruising to victory over LIU, 37-3, while falling to 24th-ranked Purdue, 32-8. After dropping the opening bout against LIU, the Bulls rattled off nine straight wins to easily put away the Sharks. Derek Spann wasted little time getting the Bulls on the board as he earned a technical fall over Michael Blando just 2:43 into the match, to put UB ahead to stay, 5-3. John Arceri and Kevin Meloni followed with decisions at 141 and 149, respectively, to extend the UB lead to 11-3.  Full Story...

Bulls Drop Home Opener To Wisconsin

BUFFALO, N.Y. – It was a tough test for the University at Buffalo wrestling team as it hosted fourth-ranked Wisconsin in its home opener on Thursday night. Dubbed "Mayhem on the Mainstage," the Bulls dropped the bout, 33-3, to the Badgers at the main stage theater at the UB Center for the Arts. Entering the match, Wisconsin had five wrestlers ranked in the top 20, including three in the top five and all five put on dominant performances. The highlight of the night for the Bulls was the performance of Sam Schuyler in the 197 lb. match. Central Michigan:
Chippewa Wrestlers Claim Four Firsts At Appalachian State

BOONE, N.C. – Fourteen Central Michigan wrestlers placed in their respective weight classes on Saturday at the inaugural Mountaineer Invitational, hosted by Appalachian State.  Four Chippewas, Matt Stencel (heavyweight), Drew Hildebrandt (125), Logan Parks (157) and Aaron Bolo (197), were crowned champions. Stencel, Hildebrandt and Parks competed in the invitational tournament, while Bolo competed in the open tourney.  Four other Chippewas, Ben Cushman (184), Dresden Simon (141), Landon Pelham (197) and Tracy Hubbard (165), each placed second, while three more, Drew Marten (141), Corbyn Munson (149) and Deven Perez (133), were fourth.  Full Story...

Cleveland State:
Four Vikings Win Titles at Ohio Intercollegiate Open

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Four members of the Cleveland State University wrestling team won titles as the Vikings competed in the Ohio Intercollegiate Open Sunday inside Veale Field House. Redshirt sophomore Brady Barnett, redshirt senior Evan Cheek, redshirt senior Justin Patrick and sophomore Ben Smith were the winners at 157, 141, 133 and 197 pounds, respectively. Redshirt sophomore Chase Archangelo (174), redshirt freshman Riley Smucker (165) and redshirt sophomore Cody Moosman (125) also placed for CSU Sunday.  Full Story...

Edinboro:
Boro Battles Badgers In Front Of Sold Out Saegertown 


SAEGERTOWN, Pa. – The Edinboro wrestling team wrestled its "home" opener in front of a packed house at nearby Saegertown High School. The Fighting Scots would suffer their first loss of the year, a 28-15 decision to seventh-ranked Wisconsin. But the real winners were northwest Pennsylvania wrestling fans, particularly northern Crawford County, with four local wrestlers in the lineup. The loss brings Edinboro's record to 3-1 while the Big Ten Badgers are now 5-0. Kent State:
Bates and McNally Earn Victories at Mountaineer Invitational

BOONE, NC-  Kent State wrestling had a strong showing at the Mountaineer Invitational hosted by Appalachian State. Tyler Bates and Andrew McNally picked up bracket wins on the championship side while Jake Ferri took home a title on the Open side on Saturday. At 174, McNally lived up to the billing of the top-ranked wrestler and picked up a fall, a major decision and two decision wins by six and seven points, respectfully to cruise to the title.  Full Story...

Wrestling Turns In Strong Showing Sunday

TROY, N.Y. – The No. 22 Lock Haven University wrestling team was busy today and it was Alex Klucker, who led the way. With the majority of the team competing at the 2019 Journeymen Collegiate Classic, an individual round robin style tournament conducted by pool, it was Klucker who stood out for the second straight weekend. Competing unattached at Binghamton's Jonathan Kaloust Bearcat Open, Luke Werner won an individual title and Jonathan Ross was second.  Full Story...

Bobcats Fall To Campbell

ATHENS, Ohio -- The Ohio wrestling team (0-1) fell to No. 21-ranked Campbell (1-1), 24-16, in its 2019-20 home opener this afternoon at the Convocation Center. The match opened at 125 pounds, with junior Korbin Meink scoring a 7-2 win by decision for the Camels. The Bobcats evened things up at three-all when redshirt junior Mario Guillen (Perrysburg, Ohio) notched a 3-1 win by decision over redshirt senior Noah Gonser at 133.  Full Story...

Wrestling's Perry, Hanna and Cramer Each Earn Place First at Journeymen Collegiate Classic

TROY, N.Y. – The Old Dominion wrestling team competed at the Journeymen Collegiate Classic on Sunday afternoon, and three Monarchs, Sa’Derian Perry, Alex Cramer and Shannon Hanna were each named champions.  At 133 pounds, Hanna won his round-robin bracket, combining to beat his three opponents by a 22-2 margin, including a 11-1 win by major decision over George Mason’s Lukasz Malendzak.  Full Story...

Cougars Split Pair of Duals

LANSDALE, Pa. - SIUE wrestling picked up its first dual meet victory of the season Saturday. SIUE, 1-2, splits its matches for the day. The Cougars defeated West Liberty 17-15 and dropped an 18-15 decision to Drexel. The Cougars picked up two victories each from Saul Ervin (141), Justin Ruffin (157), Ryan Yarnell (184) and Colton McKiernan (285). Ervin bested West Liberty's Darius Bunch 10-3 and Drexel's Tyler Williams 10-8 OT. Ruffin and McKiernan both are 3-0. Ruffin defeated West Liberty's Blake Miller in a technical fall 18-0 and Drexel's Felix Belga 6-1. McKiernan posted wins over West Liberty's Chase Logan 9-2 and Drexel's Sean O'Malley 3-0.  Full Story...
