Buffalo:
Bulls Drop Dual at Cal Poly

SAN LUIS OBISPO, CA – The University at Buffalo dropped an afternoon dual at Cal Poly, 23-10, on Saturday. It was the back end of the Bulls' two-day, two-dual west coast swing. Derek Spann got the Bulls on the board first with a 12-5 decision over Junior Fernandez at 133. Spann used three reversals and two near falls to improve to 4-1 in duals on the year.  Full Story...

Cal State Bakersfield Slips Past Bulls

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - Cal State Bakersfield rallied to defeat Buffalo, 16-15, at the Iacardo Center on Friday night. The Bulls led 15-9 heading into the final two matches of the night, but the Roadrunners were able to win the final two matches, including one by major decision, to eke out the one-point victory. The Bulls got off to a great start, winning three of the first four matches. Starting at 165, Troy Keller got the first points for Buffalo. He was in control the whole match before securing the 6-2 decision over Jacob Thalin to improve to 3-1 in duals on the season.  Full Story...

Central Michigan:
Chippewas Drop Dual at Michigan

ANN ARBOR, Mich. – A 6-4 split in Michigan's favor plus Wolverine bonus points were enough to do in the Central Michigan wrestling team on Sunday in its first dual meet of the season. The 19th-ranked Wolverines got a pin and a major decision among their six wins in downing the Chippewas, 22-12, at Cliff Keen Arena. Michigan improved to 1-1; CMU is 0-1 and off through Thanksgiving before opening Mid-American Conference competition with a pair of road duals. The Chippewas won three of the first four matches on Sunday to seize a 9-3 lead. Michigan won five of the final six bouts, including a pin at 174 pounds and a major decision at 184.  Full Story...

Clarion:
Wrestling Rebounds With Win in Final Bout at Boilermaker Duals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Clarion wrestling team rebounded from two early-day losses to pick up a win in their third attempt, finishing off a full day of action at the Boilermaker Duals hosted by Purdue.  The Golden Eagles (1-3) will not have another dual match until hosting Lock Haven on Dec. 21, but their next action will be at the Cliff Keen Invitational in December. Ty Bagoly was the sole Golden Eagle to go 3-0 on the day, recording a win by decision over Northern Illinois's Max Ihry and pinning Purdue's Thomas Penola just 1:07 into the first period.  He wrapped his day with a win by decision over Indianapolis' Jack Williams.  Full Story...

Cleveland State:
Cheek Places; Smith Wins Four at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- Redshirt senior Evan Cheek placed at 141 pounds as the Cleveland State University wrestling team competed in a strong 18-field team at the Navy Classic Saturday inside Wesley Brown Field House. Cheek suffered a lone setback on the day but, due to the tournament format, could only wrestle back to fifth place. Sophomore Ben Smith joined Cheek in tying for the lead in wins among Vikings in the event as he also claimed four victories, with his coming at 197 pounds.  Full Story...

Edinboro:
Oliver Leads Quartet of Medalists with First Place Showing at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – The Edinboro wrestling team turned in a strong showing while competing in the Navy Classic on Saturday. A total of 18 teams participated in the event, with Edinboro finishing eight with 80 points, and  four wrestlers earning medals. After finishing second a year ago at 174 lbs., Jacob Oliver took the next step and finished as the champion. Jon Spaulding finished third at heavyweight, with Peter Pappas and Dylan Reynolds placing fifth at 157 and 197 lbs., respectively. Full Story...

George Mason:
Patriots Drop Home Opener to Oregon State

FAIRFAX, Va. -- Just two years ago, the Patriots fell to No. 22 Oregon State, 32-9, in its home opener. Tonight, the Patriots (1-1) fought to a 16-8 halftime lead, but the Beavers with several top-20 wrestlers earned the victory, 26-16 in the dual match held at the Recreation Athletic Complex. Oregon State got on the board first, winning the first two matches. The Beavers' Grant Willits, ranked No. 19 by Intermat Wrestling, earned a technical fall against Mason freshman Lukasz Walendzak and Lane Stigell edge the Patriots Colston DiBlasi, 4-3 to take an 8-0 lead early in the match.  Full Story...

Kent State:
McCracken, Rooney Lead Flashes at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS,Md. - Colin McCracken and Tim Rooney each had second-place finishes and Andrew McNallyfinished fifth to help the Golden Flashes to a 11th  place overall finish in the 18-team Navy Classic held on Saturday. Kent State amassed 58.5 points on Saturday to finish 11th overall, just two points behind Air Force. Virginia Tech won the tournament with 116 points, nine points better than Campbell.  Full Story...

Lock Haven:
Shoop, Klucker pace #22 Bald Eagles at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. – Kyle Shoop made his highly anticipated season debut and Alex Klucker continued his strong early-season run, as the duo paced the No. 22 Lock Haven University wrestling team's effort today at the 2019 Navy Classic, hosted by the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, Maryland at the Wesley Brown Field House. Shoop, ranked sixth nationally, finished second overall at 141 pounds after going 4-1. Missouri:
Tigers Dominate In-State Doubleheader

COLUMBIA, Mo. – Mizzou Wrestling improved to 2-2 on the year after sweeping an in-state doubleheader against Central Missouri and Missouri Valley on Thursday, Nov. 21 at the Hearnes Center. Mizzou downed UCM, 39-3, in the evening's first dual before defeating Missouri Valley, 45-0, just half an hour later. In the first dual, Mizzou made short work of the in-state Mules of UCM. Six of the weight classes were won with bonus points while the Mules also forfeited at 197. Picking up a fall was 133-pounder Cameron Valdiviez, his fifth of the season. In fact, at the time his last five bout wins well all via pin. He won his Missouri Valley bout at 125, 7-0.  Full Story...

Huskies Finish 2-1 at Boilermaker Duals

WEST LAFAYETTE, Ind. – The Northern Illinois University wrestling team earned a pair of victories before falling to Purdue at the Boilermaker Duals Sunday. The Huskies (4-2, 1-1) defeated Mid-American Conference foe Clarion, 19-17, to open the day and Indianapolis, 36-9, in the second match of the day. However, Purdue proved too much for NIU as the Boilermakers, 31-8, in the final contest of the day.  Full Story...

Bobcats Place Sixth at Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. -- The Ohio wrestling team (1-2, 0-1 MAC) earned a sixth-place finish at the Navy Classic, tallying 74.5 points today at Wesley Brown Field House. The Bobcats logged two second-place finishes, one third-place finish, one fifth place-finish and a sixth-place finish. Earning runner-up finishes for Ohio were redshirt sophomore Alec Hagan (Eureka, Mo.) at 149 pounds and redshirt senior Zac Carson (Akron, Ohio) at 157 pounds. Redshirt senior Shakur Laney (Canal Winchester, Ohio) turned in a third-place finish at 141, redshirt freshman Jordan Earnest (Wadsworth, Ohio) took fifth at 285 and redshirt junior Jake Walker (Sarasota, Fla.) placed sixth at 197.  Full Story...

Old Dominion:
Cardinale and Jones Place in 42nd Annual Navy Classic

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - No. 13 Killian Cardinale placed third, No. 19 Shane Jones placed fifth and the Old Dominion Wrestling team finished in 14th in the 42nd Annual Navy Classic on Saturday. Cardinale managed to get all seven points in the third-place bout in the third round, four of which came on a near fall, to take out No. 20 Joey Prata of Virginia Tech. To get to the bronze medal match, Cardinale went 3-1, losing to American's Gage Curry in the semifinal round.  Full Story...

SIUE:
Ruffin Leads Five SIUE Wrestlers in Top Six at Lindenwood Open

ST. CHARLES, Mo. - Five SIUE wrestlers placed in the top six Saturday at the Lindenwood Open, including a runner-up finish for sophomore Justin Ruffin. After winning his first three matches, Ruffin dropped a tight 3-1 decision to Missouri's Jarrett Jacques in the 157-pound championship match. Ruffin previously defeated Marian's Quienton Ingram 18-0, Lindenwood's Tim Bogar 8-0 and Missouri Phyllip DeLoach 5-2.  Full Story...
